Our Vision A top-three cockpit electronics player delivering a rich, connected cockpit experience for every car from luxury to entry SOFTWARE VALIDATION ENGINEER – QUERETARO, QRO., MEXICO Primary Responsibilities Located at Queretaro, Qro, Mexico, the software validation engineer is responsible for performing independent product testing. This will include performing requirements review and analysis; test setup and preparation; developing test plans; developing test procedures and/or test automation scripts; executing test procedures and developing test reports. The software validation engineer will develop an in-depth technical understanding of the function of Visteon’s products through the process of engineering specification review, developing automated and bench test set-ups, and by identifying product related software issues through the validation process. As the software validation engineer is a key part of the team, excellent communication and team skills are required. Typical Duties • Participate in internal system requirement document (SRD) peer reviews • Support software requirements specification (SRS) reviews as required • Participate in peer reviews of software validation test procedures • Ensure closure of software validation issues • Support defect and product issue resolution as necessary and appropriate • Support product development (PDT) program meetings as necessary • Support change control board (CCB) meetings as required • Support software release readiness meetings Requirements Experience: Similar previous experience desired. Degree Strongly Preferred: BS Electrical/Electronic or Mechatronics Engineering Desired Competencies/Experience • Strong people and team skills • Ability to perform requirements review and analysis • Test setup and preparation • Development of test plans • Development of test procedures and/or test automation scripts • Execution of test procedures • Development of test reports • Experience working with the major automobile manufacturers (Ford, GM, Chrysler, Nissan, Honda) Special Requirements Availability to travel over the next few months. As plants shut their doors and auto manufacturers and suppliers trimmed costs wherever possible, the auto industry suffered meaningfully. While the fallout of the virus remains to be seen, hope for a quick rebound Global light vehicle sales decreased by 32.0% waned as expectations for long-term consumer spending, especially on in H1 2020 compared to H1 2019.1 durable goods, including automobiles, dimmed.1 Global light vehicle sales declined 32.0% in H1 2020 relative to the same period in 2019 as COVID-19 depressed the market throughout the first quarter. In the U.S., light vehicle sales declined 24.0% year-over-year to 6.5 For H1 2020, China’s auto sales plummeted million units in the half.2 In June 2020, U.S. light vehicle sales remained low 17.1%, with 9.9 million units sold.1,4 at 13.1 million units at a seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR), up slightly from the 11.4 million mark in March 2020.3 Interest rates on consumer installment loans for new automobiles were In June 2020, U.S. light vehicle SAAR was 5.13% in May 2020 in the U.S., down from 5.29% in February 2020 and 13.1 million units, considerably down from the 5.35% in May 2019, as the Fed’s rate cuts began filtering through the 17.2 million mark in June 2019.2 economy.4 In H1 2020, auto sales in China declined 17.1%, compared to the same period in 2019.
