We advise you to take a little tour around emperor Diocletian’s old town before the start of your cruising tour as this is something you should not miss while being in Split. After introducing with the crew and the boat, you will sail out to Trogir which will take about 2h of navigation. You will spend the night on anchor and dinner will be served on board. In the evening you can visit the town of Trogir. Trogir is one of the pearls of the Adriatic. This beautiful ancient town under UNESCO protection, is situated on a small island. This island is on both sides – land and sea one – connected by bridges. So, besides being connected with the mainland, Trogir is also connected with the small island Čiovo. While entering the old town and walking through the narrow streets of Trogir you will feel history all around you. All the buildings in Trogir’s old center are a mixture of different art styles, mainly Renaissance and Baroque ones. The bell tower of the Cathedral of St. Lawrence built in 13th century offers a stunning view. After breakfast you will sail out to Skradin. This small but romantic town is located on river Krka and at the entrance of Krka National Park. You will be amazed while sailing through the canyon of Krka, as this is for sure a beautiful experience. While arriving to Skradin you will be welcomed by beautiful swans swimming all around your boat. From Skradin you can go visit Krka National Park. This park is known for a large number of lakes and a series of 7 waterfalls. The most interesting ones are Skradinski Buk and Roški slap. During the summer you can swim in crystal clear waters of the Krka river. You can also visit traditional watermills and Franciscan monastery of Our Lady of Mercy, located on the small island Visovac. Or you can just relax and soak up beautiful nature all around you. In the evening you will go to Šibenik. This beautiful town is known as the oldest native Croatian town and here you can find even two monuments that are on the UNESCO World Heritage list: Cathedral of St. James and St. Nicholas fort. Cathedral is a beautiful example of Renaissance architecture and it is famous for its 71 unknown human portrait sculptures that surround outside walls. Šibenik is full of history: you can feel it everywhere around you and there are so many monuments and locations to be seen. After visiting all the cultural sites, if you find enough time we suggest you to go and enjoy a peaceful walk and breath- taking view on the walking trail in St. Anthony’s Channel. But even today, though they don’t spend as much time working on lands as they did in the past, residents of Murter are known to produce excellent olive oil. We suggest you just to relax on Murter and feel this island in its fullness: enjoy long walks in untouched nature and swim and sunbathe on beautiful beaches (Slanica beach, Podvrske beach, Cigrada beach and Kosirina beach). Murter is also known for beautiful coves that are hidden from the eyes of most of the tourists. It is known as one of the most protected ports in this part of the Adriatic because it is located in a deep bay sheltered from the winds. Rogoznica is located on a peninsula that was a long time ago a small island. This old fishermen’s town grew up into a famous tourist location, but old stone houses in the town center and fishermen selling their catch early in the morning are real witnesses of the past times. And this is the thing that makes this town so special – mixture of old and new, beautiful nature and marina infrastructure. Rogoznica is also known for its beautiful beaches. After a long walk by the sea and in the beautiful pine woods we suggest you visit Lake Dragon’s eye, a natural phenomenon located next to Marina Frapa. This lake, filled with salt water, is considered to be a natural bioreactor. Just as it is usual these days, after breakfast you will drive a little bit more and find some beautiful bay on island Šolta where you'll sunbath and relax. Lunch will be served in nature, surrounded by a song of crickets and crystal blue waters and you will feel as if you have your own private peace of heaven on Earth. You will spend your late afternoon and night anchored next to the small village of Nečujam on island Šolta. In the evening you will have free time to visit town and have dinner on land. Nečujam is a nice little town, the youngest one on the island Šolta. The town grew together with the apartment complex that was built there in the 1980s.

VII (2014), pp. 413-433 ORNELLA ALBOLINO THE TOURISM IN CROATIA: POLITICS, PROJECTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY Abstract - The paper aims to consider the development and evolution of the tourism in Croatia and its economic and social impact. Croatia can be considered an interesting case study dealing with the relationship between tourism and sustainable development. In particular a special focus on local specificities seems to be present in policy planning and project implementation. Even if seaside tourism is prevailing, initiatives towards sustainability are concentrated on environmental, rural and cultural tourism. The Country is characterized by wide variety and rich cultural heritage and tourism development is one of the most Croatian important economic activity. Now there are many institutional documents for a sustainable tourism development but those plans are not followed by appropriate implementation instruments. Actually a coordinated and integrated sustainable tourism planning at national scale is absent. At local level, counties and Tourist offices show instead great attention to sustainability, creating projects for the development of rural and insular tourism. A particular example is the County of Istria: it is not characterized by seasonal tourism and it is able to promote an integrated tourism development. Regions and types of tourism - This paper (*) is meant to analyze the development and evolution of the tourist sector in Croatia, also with reference to the latest policy planning concerning environmental sustainability.     Studies in Visual Arts and Communication: an international journal Vol 3, No 1 (2016) on-line ISSN 2393 - 1221 Illyrian religion and nation as zero institution Josipa Lulić * Abstract The main theoretical and philosophical framework for this paper are Louis Althusser's writings on ideology, and ideological state apparatuses, as well as Rastko Močnik’s writings on ideology and on the nation as the zero institution. This theoretical framework is crucial for deconstructing some basic tenants in writing on the religious sculpture in Roman Dalmatia, and the implicit theoretical constructs that govern the possibilities of thought on this particular subject. This paper demonstrates how the ideological construct of nation that ensures the reproduction of relations of production of modern societies is often implicitly or explicitly projected into the past, as trans-historical construct, thus soliciting anachronistic interpretations of the material remains of past societies. This paper uses the interpretation of religious sculpture in Roman Dalmatia as a case study to stress the importance of the critique of ideology in the art history. The religious sculpture in Roman Dalmatia has been researched almost exclusively through the search for the presumed elements of Illyrian religion in visual representations; the formulation of the research hypothesis was firmly rooted into the idea of nation as zero institution, which served as the default framework for various interpretations. In this paper I try to offer some alternative interpretations, intending not to give definite answers, but to open new spaces for research.     Hrvatski jadranski otoci, otočići i hridi Sika od Mondefusta, Palagruţa Mjerenja obale istoĉnog Jadrana imaju povijest; svi autori navode prvi cjelovitiji popis otoka kontraadmirala austougarske mornarice Sobieczkog (Pula, 1911.). Glavni suvremeni izvor dugo je bio odliĉni i dosad još uvijek najsustavniji pregled za cijelu jugoslavensku obalu iz godine 1955. [1955].1 Na osnovi istraţivanja skupine autora, koji su ponovo izmjerili opsege i površine hrvatskih otoka i otoĉića većih od 0,01 km2 [2004],2 u Ministarstvu mora, prometa i infrastrukture je zatim 2007. godine objavljena opseţna nova graĊa, koju sad moramo smatrati referentnom [2007].3 No, i taj pregled je manjkav, ponajprije stoga jer je namijenjen specifiĉnom administrativnom korištenju, a ne »statistici«. Drugi problem svih novijih popisa, barem onih objavljenih, jest taj da ne navode sve najmanje otoĉiće i hridi, iako ulaze u konaĉne brojke.4 Brojka 1244, koja je sada najĉešće u optjecaju, uopće nije dokumentirana.5 Osnovni izvor za naš popis je, dakle, [2007], i u graniĉnim primjerima [2004]. Posebna je pozornost usmjerena na obradu povijesno-geografske arhivske građe i na podatke o iskorištavanju i kolonizaciji ovih otoka. Ukupne kopnene površine od 19,5 km2 (28,3% površine Kornata) bez stalnog stanovništva, ova otočna skupina imala je značenje pašnjačke i ribolovne zone u tisućljetnoj valorizaciji koju su provodile vlasničke obitelji iz Zadra, a posljednjih stoljeća stanovnici otoka Murtera i drugih susjednih otoka. Analitički osvrt na geografska obilježja kroz vrijeme posebno je važan danas, tj. na početku 21. stoljeća, kada se čitava kornatska otočna skupina suvremeno katastarski i zemljišno-vlasnički redefinira. Special attention is paid to historical-geographical archival materials and to data about exploiting and colonization of these islands. Total land area makes 19.2 km2 (28.3% land surface of Kornati). Nowadays without permanent population, this insular group had significance of pasture, olive growing and fishing zone in millenary evaluation and exploitation, which was carried out by proprietary families from Zadar and, in the recent centuries, by islanders from Murter and other neighbouring islands.

    Tourism Introduction Zadar County encompasses marine area from Island Pag to National Park Kornati and land area of Velebit, i.e. the central part of the Croatian coastline. This is the area of true natural beauty, inhabited from the Antique period, rich with cultural heritage, maritime tradition and hospitality. Zadar County is the heart of the Adriatic and the fulfilment of many sailors' dreams with its numerous islands as well as interesting and clean underwater. It can easily be accessed from the sea, by inland transport and airways. Inseparable unity of the past and the present can be seen everywhere. Natural beauties, cultural and historical monuments have been in harmony for centuries, because men lived in harmony with nature. As a World rarity, here, in a relatively small area, within a hundred or so kilometres, one can find beautiful turquoise sea, mountains covered with snow, fertile land, rough karst, ancient cities and secluded Island bays. This is the land of the sun, warm sea, olives, wine, fish, song, picturesque villages with stone- made houses, to summarise - the true Mediterranean. History of Tourism in Zadar Tourism in Zadar has a long tradition. The historical yearbooks record that in June 1879 a group of excursionists from Vienna visited Zadar, in 1892 the City Beautification Society was founded (active until 1918), and in 1899 the Mountaineering and Tourism Society "Liburnia" was founded. At the beginning of the XX century, in March 1902 hotel Bristol was opened to the public (today's hotel Zagreb). Most important period for the development of tourism in Zadar County lasted from the 60's - 80's of the 20th century, when the majority of the hotel complexes were erected.
