The Beatles I Sverige År 1963 The Beatles i Sverige år 1963 En studie om The Beatles radioinspelning på Karlaplan samt gruppens mottagande i media under samma turné Ellinor Nilsson Examensarbete HS3 2012 Institutionen för musikvetenskap Uppsala universitet 2 Abstract Ellinor Nilsson: The Beatles i Sverige år 1963. En studie om The Beatles radioinspelning på Karlaplan och gruppens mottagande i media under samma turné [The Beatles in Sweden 1963. A study of The Beatles’ radio recording on Karlaplan and how the group was depicted in Swedish media during the tour]. Uppsala universitet: Institutionen för musikvetenskap, examensarbete 15 högskolepoäng, 2012. In October 1963 The Beatles started their first tour abroad, which took place in Sweden. Except for their concerts and their participation in a television show, they also did one recording to be broadcasted on radio. The aim of this study is to define how come The Beatles chose to travel to Sweden and why the group was an interesting product for the Swedish organizers. The study compares the group’s radio recording with the same but published songs and introduces articles and announcements from newspapers of the same time. One inference of the study is media’s focus on The Beatles’ appearance. That their recording on Karlaplan has more distorsion and a higher BPM number than their record recordings is another. The several connections between The Beatles and Sweden is, what I interpret, the main reason why Sweden was the tour’s destination. Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! – The Beatles erövrar Sverige. Stockholm: Premium. 2 Ian MacDonald, (2000), s. 310-323.

Out Now - March 2006 the long-awaited solo instrumental CD by BOB HOWE ... GO WEST !! Visit the on-line shop at www.bobhowe.com to hear samples of GO WEST. Below, Bob takes you through the album track by track and talks about the cover photos, instruments and more... Originally titled (GHOST) RIDERS IN THE SKY - A Cowboy Legend, Stan Jones wrote this song sitting outside his Death Valley home on his 34th birthday. A classic that has been recorded countless times since 1949 and topped the country and pop music charts. This version draws its inspiration from The Shadows and I added some harmonica lines and ghostly slide guitar. The definition of an intellectual is someone who can listen to the William Tell Overture by Gioacchino Rossini and not think of THE LONE RANGER. Not me...I always imagine the masked man and his faithful Indian companion Tonto! This music is actually the finale of the overture from Rossini's last opera Guillaume Tell (first performed in 1829) and while transcribing it for guitars and mandolin I edited the score slightly to fit my stage version of the piece. "Hi-Yo Silver, Aw-a-a-a-a-y!" 1952 movie HIGH NOON was nominated for seven Academy Awards and it won four awards, including Best Song for High Noon (Do Not Forsake Me, Oh My Darlin') sung by Tex Ritter throughout the film (lyrics by Ned Washington, music by Dimitri Tiomkin) and Best Scoring of a Dramatic Picture (Dimitri Tiomkin and Best Actor for Gary Cooper. "Wait along..." I grew up watching television's Cartwright family and their adventures on the Ponderosa ranch.

Those Cliff Richard EPs in which The Shadows played no part at all, incorporated in the list below for reference purposes but furnished with distinct identifiers ( CR 1–11), are not discussed. Scheme File 1 is this Introduction . A detailed survey of the EPs taken in order of release ( Files 2–7) is followed up with three appendices : — the first ( File 8 ) furnishes back cover scans of each EP; — the second (File 9) contains a colour-coded pathfinder to the Shadows recordings embraced by the EPs over the period; — the third ( File 9 again) is an indexed A–Z of Shadows/ Drifters titles examined in this feature.
