Early Play Development and Reported Results One of Encana’s wells, the Lybrook #H36-2307 (located in se se 32-23n- 7w, Figure 1) was reported flowing at a rate of 838 mcfgpd (natural gas) and 786 bopd (oil) from a lateral leg in the Gallup sandstone formation. Daily production through the initial 30-day period was around 440 barrels of oil per day. This well is a horizontal well with a 4,100 foot lateral section. -

Humphrey, Department Head Department of Geology and Geological Engineering ii ABSTRACT The basal Niobrara sandstone in the eastern San Juan Basin is an important oil producing reservoir. The West Puerto Chiquito (WPC) Field has produced approximately 18 million barrels of oil from Fort Hays age equivalent sandstones. Most of the Late Cretaceous oil producing stratigraphic traps that have been identified in the Rocky Mountain region are associated with unconformities. The boundary between the Carlile Shale and Niobrara is a well- known regional unconformity that has been extensively studied on the west side of the San Juan Basin in association with large oil fields such as Bisti and Horseshoe. A study of well log correlation, outcrop, core and source rock analysis was conducted in order to identify the resource potential of the Niobrara sandstone in the eastern part of the San Juan Basin. The Niobrara Sandstone is encased within 2000 feet of organic-rich, thermally mature Mancos source rock. Core analyses, including petrographic thin sections help to characterize the porosity and permeability of this tight reservoir. Surface lineaments were studied in order to identify reservoir connectivity. -

SHALLOW MARINE AND COASTAL PLAIN STRATA: GALLUP SANDSTONE, MANCOS SHALE AND CREVASSE CANYON FORMATION, SAN JUAN BASIN, NEW MEXICO Àlvarez, M.1 ABSTRACT A 3-D stratigraphic architecture and facies distribution framework of upper cretaceous coastal plain and shallow marine strata was established in the Western San Juan basin, New Mexico. Strata are represented by the Turonian-Coniacian Gallup Sandstone, Mancos shale and Crevasse Canyon Formations. This high-resolution genetic stratigraphic study was conducted in a 1000 km2 area, and used 2000 m of measured section calibrated with 1200 m of outcrop gamma ray from 25 sections and 85 plugs. Twenty short-term cycles account for the internal distribution of facies within five facies tracts and reveal a large degree of compartmentalization. Seven intermediate-term cycles compose a long-term cycle. -

CONSTITUTION OF THE ZUNI TRIBE ZUNI RESERVATION, ZUNI, NEW MEXICO PREAMBLE We, the members of the Zuni Tribe, Zuni Indian Reservation, New Mexico, in order to secure to us and to our posterity the political and civil rights guaranteed to us by treaties and by the Constitution and statutes of the United States; to secure educational advantage; to encourage good citizenship; to exercise the right of self-government; to administer both as a municipal body and as a proprietor of our tribal affairs; to utilize, increase and protect our tribal resources; to encourage and promote all movements and efforts leading to the general welfare of our tribe; to guarantee individual rights and freedom of religion; and to maintain our tribal customs and traditions; do ordain and establish this constitution. ARTICLE I – JURISDICTION The jurisdiction of the Zuni Tribe, Zuni Indian Reservation exercised through the Zuni Tribal Council, the Executive Department and the Judicial Department, acting in accordance with this constitution and the ordinances adopted in accordance herewith, shall extend to all tribal lands included within the present boundaries of the Zuni Indian Reservation and to such other lands as may hereafter be added thereto, unless otherwise provided by law. This jurisdiction shall apply to and be for the benefit and protection of all Indians who now, or may in the future, reside on the Zuni Reservation. The name of this organization shall be the Zuni Tribe. ARTICLE II – MEMBERSHIP Section 1. The membership of the Zuni Tribe, Zuni Indian Reservation, shall consist of the following: a. All persons enrolled on the Zuni Agency census roll of April 1, 1963; provided that the roll may be corrected at any time by the tribal council, subject to the approval of the Secretary of the Interior. -

The Tri-State Geological Field Conference was founded in 1933 as an informal geological field trip for professionals and students in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin. The first Tri-State examined the LaSalle Anticline in Illinois. Fifty-two geologists from the University of Chicago, University of Iowa, University of Illinois, Northwestern University, University of Wisconsin, Northern Illinois State Teachers College, Western Illinois Teachers College, and the Illinois State Geological Survey attended that trip (Anderson, 1980). The 1934 field conference was hosted by the University of Wisconsin and the 1935 by the University of Iowa, establishing the rotation between the three states. The 1947 Tri-State visited quarries at Hamilton Mound and High Cliff, two of the stops on this year’s field trip. -

DRAFT LONG WALK NATIONAL HISTORIC TRAIL FEASIBILITY STUDY ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT Apache, Coconino, Navajo Counties, Arizona; Bernalillo, Cibola, De Baca, Guadalupe, Lincoln, McKinley, Mora, Otero, Santa Fe, Sandoval, Torrance, Valencia Counties, New Mexico The purpose of this study is to evaluate the suitability and feasibility of designating the routes known as the “Long Walk” of the Mescalero Apache and the Navajo people (1862-1868) as a national historic trail under the study provisions of the National Trails System Act (Public Law 90-543). This study provides necessary information for evaluating the national significance of the Long Walk, which refers to the U.S. Army’s removal of the Mescalero Apache and Navajo people from their homelands to the Bosque Redondo Reservation in eastern New Mexico, and for potential designation of a national historic trail. Detailed administrative recommendations would be developed through the subsequent preparation of a comprehensive management plan if a national historic trail is designated. The three criteria for national historic trails, as defined in the National Trails System Act, have been applied and have been met for the proposed Long Walk National Historic Trail. The trail routes possess a high degree of integrity and significant potential for historical interest based on historic interpretation and appreciation.
