How many words can you spell out of “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious?” • Listen to or sing along with Spoon Full of Sugar. “ helps the K – 2nd medicine goes down” is something that Mary Poppins says. What does it mean? • Listen to or sing along with . Dance along with Bert. • Listen to or sing along with I Love to Laugh. Choose three songs to listen to or sing along with, and complete their activities. • Listen to or sing along with My Favorite Things – Rewrite a verse to include things that make you happy. Share your verse with Mrs. R. • Listen to or sing along with Do Re Mi – Rewrite the song using things that might help you remember solfege syllables, such as “Dough, I knead when making 3rd – 5th bread.” Share your song with Mrs. R. • Listen to or sing along with So Long, Farewell – How would you say goodnight? Rewrite a verse to fit your goodbye. • Listen to or sing along with The Lonely Goatherd – The children create a play with marionettes. Create and perform a play with stuffed animals. • Listen to or sing along with I Have Confidence – What ways can you be confident in your abilities and situations you face each day? Bonus: Listen to or sing along with the other songs for your musical and complete their activities. If you have movie night at your house, watch a musical with your family. THIS WEEK’S ELEMENT OF ART FOCUS IS VALUE

VALUE: The lightness and darkness of a color.

ART CHOICE #1: K-5th

1. Make whatever kind of animal you’d like. If you want a monkey you can follow the steps outlined above 2. Outline your balloon animal with a washable marker. 3. Dip a cotton ball/swab or a paint brush into water and spread the marker ink to create lights and darks of the color. ART CHOICE #2:

1. Draw 4x4 grid or fold your paper in half and half again both vertically and horizontally to create 4x4 grid (16 boxes) 2. Choose two 4 letter words 3. Write the word in your grid horizontally 4. Write the second word vertically 5. This way your letters will overlap 6. NO BUBBLE LETTERS! K-5th 7. In each shape that you have created, create a different value. 8. Make sure that your lines are neat, careful and thoughtful

ART CHOICE #3

1. Draw a horizontal rectangle and section it into 6 boxes. Using a pen or pencil, try one or more of the techniques outlined above.

ART CHOICE #4

1. Draw 3-4 different wavy horizontal lines. 2. Color the foreground (bottom section) darkest using a pencil, marker, or crayon. 3. Color the middle ground (middle section(s)) slightly lighter as you go up with the same color. Color the background (top section) the lightest value or keep it white.

Activity: Rolling and Bowling Skills: Rolling to a target

How to play: Take a pair of socks, put them together and roll down the top of the socks to make a ball. Find items in your house to use as targets (paper towels, pillows, milk jugs, water bottles, stuffed animals, bucket, garbage can, laundry basket). Start 3 steps from the target. Move your arm back and as you step with the opposite foot lower your knee and release the ball low to the ground. If you hit the target take a step backwards. Possibly challenge a sibling or an adult to a game. K – 2nd

**Bonus Activity** 1) If you have an object and appropriate space at home, practice volleying!

Activity: Create a Routine Skills: Balance, strength, agility, coordination, flexibility

How to play: Create a gymnastics/tumbling or dance routine in a safe space inside or outside of your home. Some skills to include could be cartwheels, forward roll, backward roll, handstand, bridge, pencil roll, log roll, egg roll, etc.
