RECITAL 2019 “Mary Poppins” & “Dance the Elements” Important information! Keep this package to reference during recital week. PLEASE READ ALL OF THE ATTACHED INFORMATION AND SCHEDULES CAREFULLY! This package has been prepared to give you all the recital information you will need. If you have any questions please speak to an instructor or contact the studio 519.421.0950 [email protected] Show Dates There will be two performances per show: Saturday April 27: Mary Poppins 3:00 pm Saturday April 27: Elements 6:30 pm Sunday April 28: Mary Poppins 3:00 pm Sunday April 28: Elements 6:30 pm Dancers are required to attend ALL of their performances. There is no air conditioning in the WCI Auditorium so dress accordingly. Recital Tickets will be sold online as of Monday March 4, 2019 at 4:00pm from the link provided onstagedirect.com/danceinstyle. Tickets are $15 per person. Children under 2 are free but will need to sit on your lap. THIS EVENT WILL HAVE RESERVED SEATING. PLEASE PLAN TO GET YOUR TICKETS EARLY! Flowers There will be an opportunity to pre-order flowers at the studio or online via Onstage Direct to present to your dancer at recital. We may have a few flowers to purchase the day of recital, however it is best to pre-order. You will be able to pick up your flowers in the lobby prior to the show or during intermission. Prices: Single Rose $8.00 Bouquet $10.00 Volunteers Our recital runs smoothly with your help and the time that you are able to volunteer. Active participation will ensure that we are able to keep costs and fees low and still provide a well-run show for the community. It is for this reason that we are requesting that families commit to volunteering during the recital. Signup sheets will be posted on Studio C windows during photo week and in a binder at the front office after that. Job descriptions with information including arrival times for each of the jobs will also be posted. Thanks for your cooperation and we look forward to working with you! We would like to thank you in advance for volunteering your time. Only volunteers who sign up will be allowed behind the scenes during rehearsals and the show. Costumes Costumes will be handed out as they arrive and are ready to go (some may need alterations and will be sent home when they are ready). PLEASE do not alter or wash your costume in any way. Costume are required during photo week. Be sure to keep costumes in the bag provided as it has your dancers name on it. Dancers will remain in the Green Room before and during the recital. We will be providing games and activities for them. You may send drinks and snacks with your dancer (please label your items.) To ensure costumes stay free from stains, please pack these items accordingly. For eg. pretzels, crackers, goldfish and water. Remember no peanuts as some of our students have allergies! Photo Days Anne from Anne Bedard Photography will be doing our photos this year. We will be taking photos during regular class times. Please ensure that your dancer comes to the studio with their complete costume and accessories. Please arrive 20 minutes early on the night of photos with hair and make-up done per instructors’ request (see below). PLEASE KEEP ALL COSTUMES IN THE BAG PROVIDED until rehearsals. Photo week is Friday April 5-Thursday April 11, 2019. If you plan on ordering photos you MUST pay on picture night. Pictures will not be taken without a payment made. There will be no exceptions! Sometimes we do get behind so your patience is appreciated. Morning program photos will be held on Tuesday April 9. 5:00 – Music and Motion (Wed. & Thur. AM) 5:30 – Creative Dance (Thur. AM) Hair and Make-Up Instructors have requested that make-up and hair be done as listed for picture day and for all rehearsals and performances. For your convenience, we have partnered with Shopper’s Drug Mart (next to Zehrs), who have put together makeup kits for both our junior and our intermediate show. If you need to purchase makeup, please tell them you are with Dance in Style and they will have the products together, ready for you to pick up. If you have any questions, please ask your child’s instructor for clarification. Only those parents volunteering on Tuesday will be permitted in the auditorium. Classes and individuals may NOT leave the auditorium until 6:30pm.
