COSTUME, HAIR, AND MAKE-UP PACKET Mary Poppins 2019 Saturday, June 15th | 6:00pm Chelmsford High School Performing Arts Center 200 Richardson Road Chelmsford, MA 01863 A Message from Miss Amanda… Thank you so much for your cooperation and support throughout the past year. Your continuing cooperation and understanding is essential to the success of our show. By working together, our dancers will have a very rewarding experience. After all, that’s what it’s all about! There’s no comparison to the professionalism and quality of what you’ll see and experience! You deserve it, and most of all, the dancers deserve it! COSTUME CARE INSTRUCTIONS: ORGANIZE, LABEL, REPEAT!! It is imperative that all of your dancer’s costumes are kept extremely organized. • Please be sure to LABEL all hangers with the class name and your child’s name. Use a piece of masking tape to label the hangers. • LABEL the inside of all costumes, accessories and DANCE SHOES!!! • COSTUMES MUST REMAIN ON HANGERS! • WE RECOMMEND A PORTABLE COSTUME CLOTHING RACK/ORGANIZER. • Tutus – Hang upside on hanger, remove from plastic, hang in a bathroom with a steam shower a week before the show. This will help to take the wrinkles out of the tutu. DO NOT iron or press your tutus. 1 COSTUME, HAIR, AND MAKE-UP PACKET Mary Poppins 2019 Recital Packing List: Portable Clothes Rack to organize costumes for quick changes and multiple dances! Extra Tights- Bring an extra pair of tights in each color you need for the recital. Runs in tights are visible on stage. Bandages- For unexpected blisters. Make sure you have the clear variety, as colored ones will be visible through light-colored tights. Hangers-Bring a hanger for every costume you have and hang them up as soon as you have a chance to avoid wrinkles. Oh, and don't forget to bring the costumes. Safety Pins Baby Wipes/Make-up wipes-For quick clean-ups or make-up fixes. Snacks-Pack a few nutritious snacks for hungry dancers. Good choices include granola bars, grapes and small crackers and water. Pain Reliever-Bring a pain reliever for your child (and one for you, too.) Unexpected muscle aches and headaches can spoil a special recital. Clear Nail Polish-Clear nail polish can save a run in tights from getting out of hand. Apply a small amount to the run or snag as soon as it appears. (Better yet, bring that extra pair of tights.) Make-Up-You will want to retouch make-up immediately before going on stage. Hair Spray, Bobby Pins, Elastics, Comb and Brush Mirror or Portable Vanity Costumes and all accessories All Dance Shoes Pack a lunch- no peanuts or nuts permitted Extra activities for your kids to do during the break!
