RURAL EAST COMMUNITY FORUM 13th February 2019 Notes from the meeting

Minutes of last meeting were agreed. No matters arising

Local PCSO Ed King reported back on local police activity and handed out latest monthly Policing crime figures.

School Safety Patrols 15 patrols completed outside primary schools resulting in 15 verbal warnings and 13 written notices handed out.

Anti-Social Behaviour/Reassurance Patrols - 19 patrols completed. Crime prevention literature circulated to over 500 homes and shared on local social media pages. Incidents of anti-social behaviour were responded to and dealt with.

Speed Checks/Monitoring - Sandy Lane, Blackdown 10 speed checks/monitoring sessions were completed at school pick-up times near . 34 warning letters were sent to motorists for exceeding the 30mph and 40mph speed limits.

Public County Council is encouraging residents to complete a short on-line Health survey about local health and wellbeing needs. The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment JSNA combines statistical data with the views of local people to provide evidence of local survey need in health and social care. This should better inform the future delivery of services to meet local demand.

To localise the delivery of health related services a place based needs assessment has been done by dividing the County into 22 local geographies and rolling out a phased public consultation. The consultation process is now into Phase 2 which includes the area of North Leamington, Lillington, Cubbington and rural villages (Radford Semele, , , )

To promote the consultation, WCC Locality Working team is keen to attend local events and meet local residents.

Parish Council representatives in attendance shared information of local village activity.

Walking Walking for Health is a national programme, supported by Ramblers Association to for Health encourage adults to become more active and reduce the risk of developing serious illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease and cancer.

There are over 350 active walking schemes. Locally Council is promoting the initiative with regular walks taking place in Warwick, Leamington, and .

Walks are free to attend and open to everyone and are led by a trained volunteer. The weekly walks last approximately 60 minutes over easy terrain and are a great way to get out and meet new people.
