Next, I went on a rollercoaster called Mad Pursuit with my family. We also played a game called rollercoaster. Then, I saw an exciting game, so I asked my dad, “Can we ride the game?” My Dad said, “Yes”. Lastly, we bought a few souvenirs from the Motion Gate shop and finally, I went home. I hope I can go to Motion Gate again. 1 Blandford Fox by Hana Ghanawi It has sharp claws and it can climb up on rocks. What is this furry animal? It’s a Blandford Fox. This fox was only found in the U.A.E in 1995! When scientists were looking for the Arabian Tahr, they discovered the Blandford Fox. The Blandford Fox lives in mountainous areas. This allows them to avoid competition for food with the Red Fox. A Blanford Fox eats small mammals, birds, as well as dates, and small apples. A Polar Bear’s Den by Malika Fayed Big Polar Bears live in dens made out of snow and ice. Polar bears have black skin under their fur. Their fur helps them stay warm in their cold, big, and icy homes. Sometimes they dig their homes in the middle of a big snow bank. They cuddle up to stay warm and they also hide in their dens from predators. Polar Bears give birth to their young during the cold winter. The mother Polar Bear stays in the den with her cubs until the warm spring. A Polar Bear’s den makes a good home. 2 A Problem at School by Mariam Elkhouly I want to tell you about a problem at our school. Everyone forgets to do their homework because they can’t study at home. Then, they get bad marks on their tests and quizzes. We are trying to think of a plan to remind them to take their homework home every day. Aha! Ms. Vash thought of a plan! Why didn’t we think of this amazing and wonderful plan before? We can put checklists on each table for them to check every time they get homework. Now no one will forget their homework. Ms. Vash is a genius! We began to work on them. We had to make four checklists and it took time and a lot of work. Because we are hardworking students, it was worth it! Finally, we were finished. We printed and laminated the checklists and they were done. We stuck them on the table tightly so no one can rip them off the table. Every group used their checklist. Yay! A week after we added the checklists, we found out that no one forgot their homework any more. That’s how we solved the problem of everybody forgetting their homework! Monkey by Abdullah Mallak Have you ever had a monkey in your house? Monkeys are intelligent because they act like humans. They work hard and adapt quickly just like people. Monkeys are hairy and they give birth to live babies, so they are mammals. Monkeys eat 3 a variety of food like plants, fruits, nuts, and eggs that they find in the forest where they live. I think that monkeys are intelligent because they memorize forests as they jump from tree to tree. My Trip to Cyprus by Angelina Mikhael Did you know that Cyprus is a nice country? My family and I went there on a trip last summer. I was completely ecstatic when I found out that we were going there, and the trip ended up being amazing. First, we went on the plane and the people there were so kind. Then, we ate yummy food and had so much fun. Later on, we landed and we went straight to the hotel where we unpacked our bags and changed into our swimming suits. When everyone was done, we went to the pool and took our floaters with us. We spent a fabulous time there playing and splashing in the water. After a while, we went back to our hotel room and took a shower. The bathroom was very nice, and it had a huge Jacuzzi. When we finished, we went to a very nice restaurant to eat our dinner. I ate spicy pasta with red sauce and cheese on the top. It was the yummiest meal I had ever tasted. During our visit to Cyprus, we went to a lot of different places and we saw the city during the day and night. We ate delicious ice cream and played in a fun amusement center. On the last day, we went to the market place where we got a lot of nice souvenirs for our family and friends. It was an amazing experience and I really had a great time there. I hope one day I can return back. 4 All About Camels by Angelina Mikhael Have you ever seen a camel? Today I am going to tell you some information about them. Camels live in the deserts of UAE. They have huge humps at their lower hips so that they can store food inside. That’s what makes them survive for so long. They have long eyelashes so that the sand does not get into their eyes. I think camels are very strong because they can live in the desert for long periods of time. Camels are not harmful. They have a third, clear eyelid that protects their eyes from the dirt and sand of the desert blowing into them. They are also picky eaters. Camels are herbivores too and they like to eat plants. They can walk up to 40 miles per hour and that is pretty slow. Most camels are larger than normal-sized humans. In my opinion, camels are the coolest animals on earth. They are very humble and obedient. I really love camels. 5 My Trip to My Armenian School by Celia Jihad Francis A long time ago, my mom named Nataly decided to book classes for me at the Armenian school every single Saturday forever! I told my mom, “No mom, I don’t want to go to the Armenian School.’’ My mom said, “Why?” I said, “I’ll give you a reason’’. Before I said anything, I sighed then I told my mom, “Because it’s my first time’’. My mom said, “No Celia, no matter what you say I won’t listen to you, I will stick with my opinion and that is final! You will wake up tomorrow morning.’’ I said, “Ok mom’’. My mom said, ‘’Goodnight’’. The next day I woke up, brushed my teeth, washed my face, changed my clothes, and tied my hair. “Mommy, come on let’s go!” I said. We got in the car and it was time for takeoff! The Armenian School turned out to be far away. So then finally we reached. I went to my class and I was so shy but at recess I finally made a friend. He did not know how to speak well but sadly he was the only friend I could find! Sand Cats by Celia Francis Have you ever found a Sand Cat in the UAE? Well, lucky you because I’m going to be telling you about Sand Cats! Let’s Go! Sand Cats live in the United Arab Emirates. They are the only species of cats that live in the deserts. They are nocturnal animals meaning that they sleep in the morning and hunt at night. They hunt for food such as 6 snakes and small animals. They can also survive for a long time without water. They are mammals because they give birth to live young babies. Also, they are carnivores because they eat meat. They have sharp claws so that they can climb mountains. The amount of Sand Cats in the UAE is very low because people think it is not the right environment for them. One of their ways of protecting themselves is their claws. Their claws are so sharp that they use them to scratch a human’s face. I think they are one of my most favorite animals in the universe! The Day I Found the Chest by Haifa Shemeili Have you ever found a treasure map? One day, on a Thursday while playing with my sister, my mom decided to visit the beach hotel. My family said, “Yay!” We hopped into the car because the hotel was very far. As soon as we arrived, my brother and I decided to play hide and seek, so I hid under a tree. I looked up and I saw something shining in the treetop. I asked my mom and dad, “What is this?” My dad replied, “It is a treasure map!” We followed it. 7 The treasure map took us to the special forest. We found a gold chest on top of a tree, my family and I opened it. We found 20,000 dirhams; this couldn’t be true! My dad and mom were very rich; they had a great idea which was to travel to Lebanon. We arrived at the airport and I had some food, watched many movies, and drank coke. It was a lot of fun. Since it was late, we had to sleep in the plane. The next day we paid 10,000 dirhams for the hotel, but we still had 10,000 more to spend in Lebanon.
