Natural resources: Quang Ngai has an over 130 km coastline, territorial waters area of 2.800 km.sq, beautiful beaches to develop tourism and super-deep bay being a strong point for seaport system investment. Besides, Quang Ngai also has approximately 38 km.sq of water surface area, which is favorable for aquatic products and 197,100 ha of forest. III. Industrial Zones: 1. Tinh Phong industrial zone: - Total area: 142 ha. - Encouraged sectors of investment: producing industries regarding building material, internal and external decorating material: timber products, pottery, synthesis material, constructional equipments, comodities, electronic devices, exports and consumer goods; auxiliary industries for heavy industry. 2. Quang Phu industrial zone: - Total area: 120.41 ha. - Encouraged sectors of investment: such processing industries as agro-forestry, fishery products, post-sugar products, carton boxes, plastic, textile and less polluted products for export and consumption. 3. Pho Phong industrial zone: - Total area: 157.387 ha. - Encouraged sectors of investment: Agro-forestry products, transportation facilities, mechanic engineering, consumer goods, carton manufacture, export production. IV. Dung Quat Economic Zone: Dung Quat Economic Zone (DQEZ) is adjusted for general plan scheme till 2025 by Vietnamese Government with the total area of over 45,332 ha including the current area of 10,300 ha, the expanded area of 24,280 ha and 10,752 ha for the water surface area. DQEZ is the multi-sector, multi-functional zone of industry, services, tourism, urban area, agro-forestry, fishery. Major industries are oil refined, petrochemical, chemical and other main heavy industries consisting of steel mill, shipbuilding and the others closely linking to an effective exploitation of Dung Quat and My Han deep seaports. DQEZ is one of the centers of port-based services industry and urban area of the key economic region in the central Vietnam and one of the important terminal for transportation, trading and international exchange of the Central and Highlands. There is no doubt that DQEZ has considerable advantages such as the completed infrastructure; applying highest incentives given by the Government; applicating the transparent mechanism and institution in line with the current globalization and international integration. 3. Functional sub-areas: 3.1. East Dung Quat industrial park: 5,784ha. It gathers large scale heavy industries closely linking to Dung Quat deep seaport with such fields as petrochemical, chemical, shipbuilding, steel mill, cement produce, heavy industrial equipments and car assembling and manufacturing industries. There are some existing large scale projects including Dung Quat Oil Refinery, shipbuilding plant, steel mill plant, heavy equipments manufacturing plant, poly-propylene, bio-etanol plants and many other ones. 3.2. West Dung Quat industrial park: 2,676 ha. This is multi-sector light industrial unit developed along the existing East- Western axis (Doc Soi - Dung Quat port axis). It flocks manufacturers regarding building material, mechanic engineering, agro-forestry and aquatic products, textile products, consumer goods, exports, electric and electronic facilities. Besides, there are also medium and small transit warehouses. 3.3. Dung Quat port: 746 ha Dung Quat port is 19m deep. It has the breakwater with the length of 1,600m, height of 27m and width of 15m, and a 1,750m long sand dyke in the west. It is the largest multifunctional deep waterport of Vietnam consisting of petroleum port, specialized port and general port (container goods and lone goods) possibly accessible 50,000 DWT - oil vessels, cargo ship with capacity of 30,000 --- 50,000 DWT. 3.4. Van Tuong Urban area: 3,828 ha with 6 functional areas. + Residential area: 1,594ha comprising 5 sub-areas. + Ecological tourist area: 450 ha. + Park area: 480 ha. + Hi-technology area: 389 ha. + Oriented area for development in future: 94 ha. + Green trees preserved area: 820 ha. Orientation towards investment attraction: 1. Additionaly, we are proud to have Tam Giang – Cau Hai lagoon - the largest lagoon in Southeast Asia. Our infrastructure system is complete with Phu Bai International Airport and Chan May deep seaport. With 16 universities, 3 colleges and technical schools, 4 vocational schools, we are seen as the comprehensive educational center of Vietnam. Hue Central hospital and the hospital of Hue Medical and Pharmaceutical school make the province an intensive healthcare center of the country. Up to now, we have 65 FDI projects, focusing on tourism - service, education, investment on infrastructure of inductrial zones, etc.. The total number of Korean FDI projects in Thua Thien Hue is 10, which occupies approximalely 15% of the total number. We are happy that there are more and more Korean Investors coming to invest in our province. Thua Thien Hue province is calling for investment in the following areas: - Hue city; - Chan
