Searches PubMed and Scopus, up to 07/31/2019, search key: ("implantable cardiac defibrillator" OR "cardiac operation" OR "heart surgery" OR "cardiac surgery" OR "coronary artery bypass" OR "open heart surgery" OR "valve surgery" OR “heart transplant*”) AND ((("depression" OR "depressive") AND "episode") OR "major depressive disorder" OR "anxiety" OR "PTSD" OR "post-traumatic stress disorder" OR "acute stress- reaction" OR "quality of life"). The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic RevieWs and Meta-analyses (PRISMA) recommendations will be used to guide this meta-analysis.
