Research Interests

My current research interests include the following: intimacy as an interpersonal process; development of theories of social interaction, using data obtained in naturalistic settings with objective techniques. We are particularly interested in the factors that influence social interaction, and the social, emotional, health and work consequences of different patterns of social participation; interpersonal justice, most notably involving the reasons people are motivated to seek justice, and the meanings with which they understand justice; sex-roles, particularly the effects of stereotypes on the acquisition, development and enactment of sex-role related behaviors; and the utilization of innovative methodological and statistical techniques in psychology.

Teaching Interests

I have taught courses in the following areas on both the graduate and undergraduate levels: social psychology; relationship processes and emotions; theories of sex-roles; social interaction; justice and justice motivation; statistics; advanced correlational methods and regression models; structural equation models; research methods and design.
