RUN RULES

1. Riders will pick up a registration packet at Cedar Breaks Lodge in Brian Head or Loose Wheels in Duck Creek. The packet will include a poker card and a map that shows the 6 stop locations. At each stop, one card will be drawn from a bag containing one full deck (52 cards) including two cards per deck. The Poker Stop Event staff will place a unique stamp on the score card for the rank and suit of the card drawn. The playing card will be returned to the bag. 2. The last stop will be Cedar Breaks Lodge where the rider will pick their last card and will be given a raffle ticket when the cards are turned in. 3. Participants must submit their score card no later than 4:30 p.m. at Cedar Breaks Lodge. 4. The awards ceremony will begin around 4:45 pm or shortly thereafter for door prizes and winners announced. 5. The following rules will be used to rank the completed score cards. Prizes will be awarded to the best hand, 2nd best hand and worst hand along with door prizes.

STANDARD POKER HAND RANKING

There are 52 cards in the pack and the ranking of the individual cards, from high to low, is , , , , 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, Joker. There is no ranking between the suits – for example the king of and the king of are equal and the Joker card is wild.

A poker hand consists of five cards and the rider will throw two cards out. The categories of a hand, from highest to lowest, are listed below. Any hand in a higher category beats any hand in a lower category (for example a three of a kind beats any two pairs). Between hands in the same category, the rank of the individual cards decides which hand is better.

Five Card : Players will be allowed to change their hand (with the object of improving it) by discarding two unwanted cards.
