Varolusa Ahit V A Olmak hakkında kısa bir özet AROLUŞA HİT Farazi (1979) YAZIM: 2010,10 – 2013,05 lightfocusinspiration.com Farkli butun kulturlerin efsaneleri ortak ozellikler iceriyor. Beyniniz sizin benlik alginiz degil, yani ben dediginiz sey beyniniz degil, beyniniz iradenizle hakim olamadiginiz biyolojik bir yapi, istediginiz icin aciyi kesemiyorsunuz, gorsel illuzyonlari bildiginiz halde onlardan kurtulamiyorsunuz. Bunlari bize metaforlarla anlatan dinlerin fayda zarar analizini yaptigimizda gunumuzde hala gerekli olduklari fikri ciddi suphe iceriyor. Duyularimizdan gelen bilgilere filtreleme uyguluyoruz, renkleri, sesleri pre-process edip o an icin en onemli olani algilamayi ogreniyoruz. Kokuyu sesten ayirmayi, dokunmayi renkten ayirmayi ogreniyoruz. Halusinojen kullaninca veya beyin zarar gorunce, kendinde olmayinca bunlar birbirine giriyor. Renkleri tadiyorlar, seslere dokunuyorlar, bir isiga biniyorlar. Tamamen beynin yapisi ile ilgili bir durum. Zor computationlar soz konusu oldugunda bilincdisimiz on plana cikiyor. Bilincdisi yuksek islem gucune sahip, sezgisi guclu insanin bilincle varamadigi hesaplamalari bilindisinda yapabilmesi mumkun. Kusur ediyorsam affola. Yani insani o yaratiyor. Kitabi o gonderiyor.

Officially we call her our Pastoral Coordinator, a role that in many ways only Annamae is uniquely qualified to serve. Our last eight pastors (Siudy, Thompson, Mackey, Langerhans, Hetrich, Lamson, Zehmer and Hanson) have been ably assisted by Annamae. She has an extraordinary bedside manner when calling on the sick or grieving families, she helps every bride with the stress of a wedding day and every Sunday assure that our worship service runs like a finely tuned watch. • Plant Powers, Poisons, and Herb Craft
PLANT POWERS, POISONS, AND HERB CRAFT BY DALE PENDELL Foreword by Gary Snyde, $21.95 US In 'Pharmako/Poeia, Dale Pendell offers a mesmerizing guide to psychoactive Alternative plants, from their pharmacological roots to the literary offshoots. "This is a Health/ book," writes Gary Snyder, "about danger: dangerous knowledge, even more Literature dangerous ignorance." Against the greater danger, ignorance, Pendell strikes a formidable blow, as he proves himself a wise and witty guide to our plant teach- ers, their powers and their poisons. "Dale Pendell reactivates the ancient connection between the bardic poet and the shaman. His Pharmako/Poeia is a litany to the secret plant allies that have always accompanied us along the alchemical trajectory that leads to a new and yet authentically archaic future." — Terence McKenna, author of True Hallucinations "Much of our life-force calls upon the plant world for support, in medicines and in foods, as both allies and teachers. Pendell provides a beautifully crafted bridge between these two worlds. The magic he shares is that the voices are spoken and heard both ways; we communicate with plants and they with us. This book is a moving and poetic presentation of this dialogue." — Dr. Alexander T. Shulgin, University of California at Berkeley, Department of Public Health "Pharmako/Poeia is an epic poem on plant humours, an abstruse alchemic treatise, an experiential narrative jigsaw puzzle, a hip and learned wild-nature reference text, a comic paean to cosmic consciousness, an ecological handbook, a dried-herb pastiche, a countercultural encyclopedia of ancient fact and lore that cuts through the present 'conservative' war-on-drugs psychobabble." - Allen Ginsberg, poet Cover design "Dale PendelFs remarkable book will make it impossible to and color work ever again underestimate the most unprepossessing plant.

  • Cannabis in the Ancient World Chris Bennet
Cannabis in the Ancient World Chris Bennet The role of cannabis in the ancient world was manifold, a food, fiber, medicine and as a magically empowered religious sacrament. In this paper the focus will be on archaic references to cannabis use as both a medicine and a sacrament, rather than as a source of food or fiber, and it’s role in a variety of Ancient cultures in this context will be examined. Unfortunately, due to the deterioration of plant matter archeological evidence is sparse and “Pollen records are frequently unreliable, due to the difficulty in distinguishing between hemp and hop pollen” (Scott, Alekseev, Zaitseva, 2004). Despite these difficulties in identification some remains of cannabis fiber, cannabis beverages utensils, seeds of cannabis and burnt cannabis have been located (burnt cannabis has been carbonized and this preserves identifiable fragments of the species). Fortunately other avenues of research regarding the ancient use of cannabis remain open, and etymological evidence regarding cannabis use in a number of cultures has been widely recognized and accepted. After nearly a lifetime of research into the role of psychoactive plants in human history the late Harvard University Professor of ethnobotany, Richard Evans Schultes commented: "Early man experimented with all plant materials that he could chew and could not have avoided discovering the properties of cannabis (marijuana), for in his quest for seeds and oil, he certainly ate the sticky tops of the plant. Upon eating hemp, the euphoric, ecstatic and hallucinatory aspects may have introduced man to the other-worldly plane from which emerged religious beliefs, perhaps even the concept of deity.

  • Mystery of the Ages (A Critical Review) by Kelly Marshall
Mystery of the Ages (a critical review) By Kelly Marshall There are probably few people in the world that haven't contemplated life's deepest questions. Herbert Armstrong claimed his book Mystery of the Ages answered those questions and that these mysteries were divinely revealed to him by God. Can you know for sure these things are true? Does this book stand up to the truth of Scripture? Or is it merely black and white answers to life that come with a high price? This review is based on the 1985 hardback version (363 pages) and will go through each chapter and confront these "mysteries." Its purpose will be to: 1. Help those who come into contact with this book to understand the true agenda behind it; 2. Show how Herbert W. Armstrong substituted the true gospel of Jesus Christ with a false gospel; 3. Help those who have exited from these groups to understand how they were snared and help them untangle themselves from the falsehoods, and 4. Prove that HWA was a false prophet and deceiver, who copied and plagiarized from other groups. [Update: Gerald Flurry of Philadelphia Church of God (PCG) deleted and changed portions of this book. Read: April 13, 2004 letter to ESN.] Error, indeed, is never set forth in its naked deformity, lest, being thus exposed, it should at once be detected. But it is craftily decked out in an attractive dress, so as, by its outward form, to make it appear to the inexperienced (ridiculous as the expression may seem) more true than the truth itself.

At the time, I wasn’t thinking about how much the farm workers in the union—the strikers and the boycotters—were themselves the Church-in-the-world, showing the way for many Christians who yearned for a better world.

  • ABSTRACT Macdonald's Antiphon: Literary Traditions and the “Lost
ABSTRACT MacDonald’s Antiphon: Literary Traditions and the “Lost Church” of English Worship Bethany Joy Bear, Ph.D. Mentor: Stephen Prickett, Ph.D. This dissertation examines the ways in which Victorian novelist and fantasist George MacDonald re-imagines Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s ideas about the religious function of literary traditions. Each chapter of this project argues that Coleridge and MacDonald confront the problems of post-Kantian subjectivity with visions of literary tradition that, in turn, revitalize the idea of a universal Church in English life and letters. Chapter One begins with a study of Coleridge’s participation in the “reinvention of tradition” in the nineteenth century. Chapter Two argues that Coleridge’s Aids to Reflection (1825) is predicated upon the idea that literary recreations of the past can resolve many of the philosophical, historical, and moral challenges to the authority of the Bible. Thirty years after the publication of Aids to Reflection, MacDonald developed Coleridge’s ideas into a vision of literary traditions as “chapels” through which readers might enter the Church Invisible. In Phantastes (1858), MacDonald imagines reading as a form of baptism that can reconcile interpretive freedom and spiritual communion. Likewise, in England’s Antiphon (1868), MacDonald argues that England’s lyric tradition can restore unity among England’s divided Christians. Chapter Three considers why MacDonald writes fairy-tale “parables” in response to those who would reduce the Bible’s meaning either to the empiricism of textual criticism or to the “single plain sense” of plenary-verbal inspiration. Similarly, in Antiphon, MacDonald responds to Coleridge’s problematic theories of allegory with his own narrative of allegory’s importance in the English literary tradition.

Devine ABSTracT CLA LAW REVIEW CLA LAW Many scholars, some lower courts, and at least one Supreme Court justice support the U idea that if a law contains secular exceptions, the Free Exercise Clause compels similar religious exemptions from the law. They argue, for instance, that if a police department with a no-beards policy allows exceptions for medical reasons, it must also allow those who wish to grow their beards for religious reasons to do so. This Comment rejects the secular exceptions approach to religious exemptions. First, it argues that the secular exceptions principle is inconsistent with current First Amendment doctrine. In Employment Division v. Smith, the Supreme Court essentially eliminated religious exemptions from neutral laws of general applicability. Since laws with secular exceptions can be both neutral and generally applicable, the secular exceptions principle grants religious exemptions more broadly than Smith allows. Even if the secular exceptions principle were consistent with Smith, courts should not adopt it as the constitutional rule. Under the secular exceptions principle, secular exceptions that undermine a law’s general interest make a law underinclusive and therefore not generally applicable. The lack of general applicability triggers strict scrutiny, so the court must grant the religious exemption unless the law is narrowly tailored to a compelling government interest. But because the law was already found to be underinclusive, it is not narrowly tailored to the interest, and so it necessarily fails the strict scrutiny test. Since nearly all laws contain exceptions, this problem would lead to religious exemptions from some of the country’s most important laws—antidiscrimination laws, tax laws, and drug laws, to name a few.
