17:50-18:45 Session 4: An informal performance which families, friends and members of the public are welcome to attend. The fee for the day is £10. (£5 for under 19s and students in full-time education). Registration will be open from 1:15pm.
Music will be provided – we are using the Schott edition if you wish to bring your own score.
Hot and cold drinks and cake will be provided as part of the cost of the day. A hot meal before the performance can be provided if pre-booked — please see details on booking form (on the back of this leaflet).
Wrekin College is situated just on the outskirts of Wellington town centre. It is a few minutes walk from both the bus and railway stations. Car parking is available on the Wrekin College Sports Hall car park, postcode TF1 3BH. Adrian Lucas Adrian Lucas, is the RSCM’s Head of Choral Studies and Musical Director of its Millennium Youth Choir.
A former organ scholar of St John’s College, Cambridge, Adrian held posts at Portsmouth, Norwich and Salisbury Cathedrals before moving to Worcester Cathedral in 1996. Since leaving the Cathedral he has developed an international career as a freelance conductor, organist and examiner and has set up his own recording company; Acclaim Productions.
As an organist, Adrian continues to give recitals both nationally and internationally. He has played in churches and concert halls from Sydney to Seattle and particularly enjoys broadening the instrument’s repertoire into the realms of jazz. Projects have included jazz-inspired works by Iain Farrington and Ad Wammes.
Adrian is also active as a composer, arranger and orchestrator. He is a UK and international examiner for ABRSM and has been an external examiner for the Birmingham Conservatoire and the Royal Academy of Music. Adrian is Chairman of the British Music Society.
We are delighted to welcome Adrian to our Come and Sing Day and to offer all singers the opportunity to enjoy singing under his direction. The fee for the day is £10. (£5 for under 19s and students in full-time education). Wrekin College Community Choir Registration will be open from 1:15pm. The choir is a long-established group open to school parents, friends and all who Music will be provided – we are using the Schott edition if you wish to bring your enjoy singing.
