The region is home to the Tengger people; descendants of Indonesia’s storied Majapahit Empire who continue to preserve its unique mystic heritage and traditions to this day. Mount Bromo (2,329m) is one of the most iconic sights in Java, standing as the centrepiece of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Mt Bromo and the neighbouring cone of Mt Semeru bulge out of an even larger, more ancient crater; a wide open plain known by the Javanese as Segara Wedi (sea of sand). But the conversion of its land has become a problem in the management and can threaten the existence of its yard. This study aims to analyze the facade of the yard, as well as formulate its preservation model based on Tengger cultural wisdom. The research method applied in this study is rationalistic approach of quantitative and qualitative mix. Data were collected by applying explorative survey methods and interviews. Index of cultural significance from Turner is employed in analyzing the utilization of plant species quantitatively. The result indicates that yard performances in these two villages are categorized into narrow and medium size, with an average area of 104 m2. Back and side zones are functioned as cultivation of food crops, horticultures, herbs, spices and starches (carbohydrate sources). Plants of strata I and II dominate the yards of these villages and correlate with the carrying capacity of narrow garden yards. The management of the yard in Ngadas and Ranu Pani villages through the conservation and realization of local wisdom has great potential in the preservation of the BTSNP landscape. Keywords: Yard; Ngadas; Ranu Pani; Conservation; Landscape Introduction Yard is a plot of land owning certain limits, on which there are residential buildings and having functional links economically, biophysically, and socioculturally with its inhabitants [1].

However, this diversity is capable of causing conflicts both internally and externally. As with many cases that occur in Indonesia. Religion itself is a foothold, belief, and life guide, even as a scapegoat for conflicts in society. But other than the tengger tribe located in Lumajang Regency, Malang Regency, Pasuruan Regency and Probolinggo Regency, there are three religions that coexist in one village namely Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism. In the midst of pluralism, different societies of understanding and belief turned out to be able to have an attitude of tolerance and mutual respect between each other. Religious diversity is not a problem for the agrosari community to interact in carrying out daily activities. Regarding tolerance among religious people has recently become a very sticky issue among academics and the public. Local wisdom and culture are solutions to overcome this problem. Local wisdom in the Tengger tribe community is inseparable from the values of Javanese culture, as well as the cultural heritage of Majapahit which is still developing with mutual respect, tolerance, and respect for ancestral spirits and there are no striking differences in ethnicity other than differences in religious beliefs.
