Since its inception the companies pricing policy has been the same; we believe that we provide a quality service at a competitive price. It is a price which allows Leather Master to hire and retain a qualified staff deserving of a decent wage. It has allowed us to invest in state-of- the-art equipment and technologies that will insure delivery of consistent quality work to you our valued customer. Also, we have made a significant investment to improve the quality coming out of our pressing department with the latest in European tensioning equipment. Our latest addition is in our cleaning department, adding a Silicone based cleaning process specifically formulated for suede and leather cleaning. The dry cleaning industry both now and in the future will require unprecedented commitment and investment in equipment and programs to satisfy OSHA and EPA requirements. At the same time the cost of materials to properly care for and deliver good work continue to escalate. Business, health and vehicle insurance premiums as well, require a larger investment every year. Also, we have faced natural gas and fleet-fueling costs that have risen substantially. We believe that the industry as a whole can not “give” its product away without proper regard to profit and the future of the industry. This price list reflects this philosophy. The prices are competitive, reasonable, reflect the necessity of conforming to state and federal regulations, and allow you the retailer to make a fair profit. • How to Measure Yourself
How to Measure Yourself In this guide we will go over how to measure yourself for a leather jacket from scratch and how to measure from a jacket you own. This guide will be based off of the Raiders & Crusade jackets but can be used for ANY custom jacket EXCEPT the Hero. The Rules When having a jacket made there’s certain rules people often forget to consider, here’s a list of things to remember before going over the guide – PLEASE give them a quick read and do not just skip to the pictures! They are just as important. What jacket are you ordering? Is it a short jacket or a longer coat? Take a good look at the jacket and imagine where it would sit length-wise. If the jacket has a size chart take a look at those measurements against yourself, this will help you get a ball-park of where your measurements will sit. For example if you are ordering a coat, your back measurement will be around 30”, if you’re ordering a shorter jacket, it will be around 25”. This particular PDF will show for a shorter jacket. In the leather trade we work in inches, the smallest measurement we allow is a ¼” as leather is very hard to get THAT close, if you are working with cm please round them up or down to the nearest ¼”. When taking your chest size please give us your exact sizing – you do not need to add extra room for movement, we do that on our end.

  • About Leather Types of Leather
About Leather Types of Leather Leather is an ancient, durable material created through a process of tanning animal rawhide to preserve it and make it pliable when dry. Many features of natural leather make it superior to synthetic products including durability, comfort, beauty, suppleness, and resilience. Plus, leather’s ability to patina and absorb body oils continues to enhance the leather’s appearance and makes it more beautiful over time. Leather can broadly be divided into full grain, enhanced grain, corrected grain, top grain and split leathers. Full Grain Leather Full grain leather has no surface alterations. The hide’s natural pores and grain textures are intact and it will develop a patina over time. The tiny pinholes dotting the surface indicate the hide’s open hair follicles. The presence of these hair follicles demonstrates a high quality surface which has not been altered to conceal flaws. This full grain surface breathes. It keeps the user Full grain comfortable as it adjusts to body temperature. Full grain leather is the highest quality, most beautiful, and most comfortable leather available. Enhanced Grain Leather Enhanced grain leather is a full grain with an artificial grain embossed over the natural grain. Enhanced grain leather has the same comfort and breathability of a full grain, but the surface has received minor alteration to improve grain Enhanced grain appearance. Corrected Grain Leather Corrected grain leather is produced from the upper portion of the hide. The surface is lightly sanded or refined then embossed with an artificial grain texture. Corrected grain leathers have a more consistent appearance across the entire surface.

sustainability Article Ethical Consumers’ Awareness of Vegan Materials: Focused on Fake Fur and Fake Leather Yeong-Hyeon Choi 1 and Kyu-Hye Lee 2,* 1 Department of Clothing and Textiles, Hanyang University, Seoul 04763, Korea; [email protected]figure 2 Human-Tech Convergence Program, Department of Clothing and Textiles, Hanyang University, Seoul 04763, Korea * Correspondence: [email protected]; Tel.: +82-2-2220-1191 Abstract: With an increase in ethical awareness, people have begun to criticize the unethical issues associated with the use of animal materials. This study focused on the transition of global consumers’ awareness toward vegan materials and the relationship between the interest in ethical subjects such as animals, the environment, and vegan materials. For this purpose, consumers’ posts about fur/fake fur and leather/fake leather uploaded on Google and Twitter from 2008 to 2019 were utilized, and the Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (Tf-idf ) value was extracted using Python 3.7. Furthermore, the worldwide Google keyword search volume of each word was analyzed using Smart PLS 3.0 to investigate global consumers’ awareness. First, with time, consumers began relating animal materials such as fur and leather to topics such as animal rights, animal abuse, and animal protection. Second, as interest in “animal welfare” increased, interest in “fake fur” also rose, and as interest in “cruelty free” increased, interest in “fake fur”, “vegan fur”, and “vegan leather” also increased. Third, as consumers’ interest in the “environment” increased, interest in vegan materials such as “fake fur” and “fake leather” decreased. However, as interest in “eco” increased, interest in “vegan leather” also augmented.
