Or a fluid season of see it/buy it and see it/wait for it? The key word is fluid, as in… Gender Fluid. As more women lead the same business lives as men, the more the clothes for those shared needs become less sex-specific. Raf Simons of Calvin Klein and Anna Sui showed men and women in identical outfits. For the first time, significant numbers of male models shared the runways with female models. Some designers showed menswear separately from women’s wear but sequentially at the same site. Transgender Fluid. Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler hired transgender models. Transsexuals also modeled in London, Milan and Paris. On the runways, diversity is the meme of the season. Model selections are more inclusive—not only gender fluid, but also age fluid, race fluid, size fluid, religion fluid. And Location Fluid. Philipp Plein leaves Milan for New York. Rodarte’s Kate and Laura Mulleavy leave New York for Paris. Tommy Hilfiger, Rebecca Minkoff and Rachel Comey leave New York for Los Angeles. Tom Ford returns to New York from London and Los Angeles. In this work we explore the task of instance segmentation with attribute localization, which unifies instance segmentation (detect and segment each object instance) and fine-grained visual attribute cat- egorization (recognize one or multiple attributes). The proposed task requires both localizing an object and describing its properties. To illus- trate the various aspects of this task, we focus on the domain of fashion and introduce Fashionpedia as a step toward mapping out the visual aspects of the fashion world. Fashionpedia consists of two parts: (1) an ontology built by fashion experts containing 27 main apparel categories, 19 apparel parts, 294 fine-grained attributes and their relationships; (2) a dataset with everyday and celebrity event fashion images annotated with segmentation masks and their associated per-mask fine-grained at- tributes, built upon the Fashionpedia ontology. In order to solve this challenging task, we propose a novel Attribute-Mask R-CNN model to jointly perform instance segmentation and localized attribute recogni- tion, and provide a novel evaluation metric for the task. The nap of high pile textiles (mohairs & velvets) may become crushed or lose its original pile height. We recommend light steaming to lift the pile to its original height. The textile should also be brushed with a de-linting brush to maintain its pile. Water based or solvent cleaner may cause discoloration or staining. We recommend that stained or soiled textiles be professionally cleaned. LEATHERS Leather is a soft porous material that is sometimes uncoated. It can easily absorb liquids and oily substances. Avoid saturating the leather with lotion or water. Care by dusting and lightly vacuuming. Keep leathers away from direct sunlight and heating vents. Leathers are a natural, “living” material that breathe and move as they wear. We recommend that stained or soiled leathers be professionally cleaned. VELLUM Vellum is a natural parchment produced from calfskin, lambskin, or kidskin. As it is a skin, there are naturally occurring variations in pattern, color, and texture, which may be noticeable in side by side panels. A clear coat of sealant is added to protect the vellum. Care for vellum by wiping gently with a damp to dry soft cloth, making sure that the skin is completely dried. Keeping vellum away from direct sunlight and heating vents. This study focused on the transition of global consumers’ awareness toward vegan materials and the relationship between the interest in ethical subjects such as animals, the environment, and vegan materials. For this purpose, consumers’ posts about fur/fake fur and leather/fake leather uploaded on Google and Twitter from 2008 to 2019 were utilized, and the Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (Tf-idf ) value was extracted using Python 3.7. Furthermore, the worldwide Google keyword search volume of each word was analyzed using Smart PLS 3.0 to investigate global consumers’ awareness. First, with time, consumers began relating animal materials such as fur and leather to topics such as animal rights, animal abuse, and animal protection. Second, as interest in “animal welfare” increased, interest in “fake fur” also rose, and as interest in “cruelty free” increased, interest in “fake fur”, “vegan fur”, and “vegan leather” also increased. Third, as consumers’ interest in the “environment” increased, interest in vegan materials such as “fake fur” and “fake leather” decreased. However, as interest in “eco” increased, interest in “vegan leather” also augmented. -

His immensely influential role at the Nassau Museum began with his election to the board in 1996 and continued until our current exhibition, and it is our pleasure to dedicate the catalogue to his memory. So many of the highlights of the 30-year history of the Museum are the direct result of his magnanimity and perfect taste, exhibitions that he sponsored for example and momentous decisions that he made as a longtime member and past president of the board of trustees, that it would be impossible to enumerate them all in one brief tribute. His smile was as meaningful as his support. The Museum as it is today is unimaginable without his guidance. He was beloved by all at the Museum, including his colleagues on the board, the staff, volunteers and docents, and patrons (who would line up to have their pictures taken with him at events). He supported our work as educators, curators and stewards of the garden, where several trees were planted in his honor. At openings and events, he and his wife Rita showed their deep commitment to the arts and to the community. Dapper and dignified, he addressed the crowd with a quiet sprezzatura (to use the word coined by Baldassare Castiglione in his classic book on the making of a courtier), not from a prepared script but from the heart.
