MACTAN-CEBU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Status: INAUGURATED ON 7 JUNE 2018 The World’s Friendliest Resort Airport The new Passenger Terminal Building can accommodate 8.5 million passengers annually. Status: 30.02% COMPLETE AS OF 25 NOV. 2018 CLARK INTERNATIONAL Target Completion: 2020 AIRPORT The new passenger terminal building broke ground on 20 December 2017, only six months after NEDA Board approval. It is designed to accommodate additional 8 million passengers annually. BICOL INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Status: 51% COMPLETE AS OF 30 OCT. 2018 Target Completion: 1st Q 2021 This is the country’s most scenic airport, with the majestic Mayon Volcano as a backdrop. Started construction after 11 years of delay It can accommodate 2 million passengers annually. LAL-LO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Status: UPGRADED The upgraded airport now has a 2.1-kilometer runway to accommodate bigger aircraft. It received its first international commercial flight from Macau, China on 23 March 2018. TUGUEGARAO AIRPORT Status: EXPANDED AND REHABILITATED THE PASSENGER TERMINAL BUILDING (PTB) Phase 1 is complete, which includes: • PTB Expansion • Widening of runway and taxiways • Airfield lighting system for night-rating The Phase 2 of the project is underway. This will include the expansion of the existing pre-departure and check-in areas of the PTB . DANIEL Z. ROMUALDEZ (TACLOBAN) AIRPORT Status: INAUGURATED THE PASSENGER TERMINAL BUILDING ON 16 MARCH 2018 Can accommodate 1.2 million passengers/year. The expansion increased the total floor area by 1,100 sqm. It now has a total of 635 seats from only a seating capacity of 360 seats before the extension. VIRAC AIRPORT Status: INAUGURATED ON 1 JUNE 2018 The airport’s PTB rehabilitation began in 2016. The rehabilitated PTB can now accommodate 300 passengers daily. MAASIN AIRPORT Status: INAUGURATED ON 2 JULY 2018 The ONLY AIRPORT serving the region of Southern Leyte Upgraded the airport from a community airport to a standard Principal Class 2 airport NEW BULACAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Status: FINALIZING THE CONCESSION AGREEMENT Target Completion: WILL BE COMPLETED IN 4-6 YEARS Will complement the operations of NAIA and Clark Int’l Airport Will have 4 parallel runways and a passenger terminal with a capacity of 100 million passengers/year NAIA REHABILITATION Status: ORIGINAL PROPONENT STATUS GRANTED TO THE NAIA CONSORTIUM Target Completion: WILL BE COMPLETED IN 2-4 YEARS The project includes NAIA rehabilitation and upgrade. Improvements and expansion of terminals, construction of additional runways, taxiways, and other support infrastructure. SANGLEY AIRPORT Status: DOTr AGREED ON THE PROPOSAL SUBMITTED BY PGU CAVITE Another airport project that can be part of our multi-airports approach. This is a proposal from the Cavite, LGU. This is expected to accommodate 70 million passenger annually. The concession period is 30 years. KALIBO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Status: OPS GRANTED TO MEGA 7 CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION The OPS granted to Mega 7 Corp. will be for operation, maintenance and upgrade of facilities and systems of the airport. The AFP Task Force for Infrastructure Development will undertake the airport projects. NIGHT-RATING OF AIRPORTS Status: 20 NIGHT-RATED AIRPORTS OUT OF 42 AIRPORTS In 2017, 4 airports were night-rated: Legazpi, Roxas, Dumaguete, and Caticlan. This 2018, 4 more airports are targeted to be completed: Naga, Dipolog, Cotabato,and Cauayan.

Major development partners in the Philippines transport sector are the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Government of Australia, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), the United Kingdom, and the World Bank (Table 1). The Republic of Korea (ROK) and the People’s Republic of China (PRC) have also supported the country with transport infrastructure. Before its 2008 merger with JICA, the Japan Bank for International Cooperation provided substantial support for the transport sector. The development partners are united in supporting the national spatial strategy of the Philippine Development Plan (PDP), 2017–2022.1 ADB focuses on supporting the road and rail subsectors, and plays a supporting role in addressing governance, institutional capacity, and the low productivity of transport agencies. In addition to supporting the road subsector, ADB has extended assistance, together with JICA, for rail subsector projects. In the rail subsector, ADB and JICA will cofinance a series of projects that will eventually create investment opportunities for other cofinanciers, including private sector investors.
