On October 11th at 7:30 PM local time, fans across America can gather at 53 Regal Entertainment Group (REG, NYSE: RGC) theatres across the country to relive this moment in rock history in a One Night Only™ Big Screen ConcertSM event, presented by Regal CineMediaSM (RCM) entertainment services, ABKCO Records, AEG Live and AEG TV. Advance tickets are available at select Regal Cinemas, United Artists Theatres and Edwards Theatres* box offices nationwide and online at www.BigScreenConcerts.com for $12.50. Event day tickets will also be available at box offices or online for $15.00. The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus was originally conceived as a BBC TV special. The show was filmed before a live audience at Intertel VTR Services Limited TV studios in North London in 1968 but it never aired, remaining virtually unseen by the general public. The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus centers on the original line up of the “World’s Greatest Rock and Roll Band” – Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts (with Nicky Hopkins and Rocky Dijon) – who serve as both the show’s hosts and featured attraction, performing six Stones classics-to-be including “Jumping Jack Flash,” “Parachute Woman,” “No Expectations,” “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” “Sympathy For The Devil” and “Salt of The Earth.” The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus also includes full length musical performances by some of the biggest British bands of the era including The Who, Jethro Tull, Taj Mahal, Marianne Faithfull, Yoko Ono, and The Dirty Mac – a group that was the first musical context in which John Lennon performed before an audience outside The Beatles. The Dirty Mac was Eric Clapton (lead guitar), The Rolling Stones’ own Keith Richards (bass) and Mitch Mitchell of the Jimi Hendrix Experience (drums) with Lennon on guitar and vocals. A mirthful conversation between Jagger and Lennon to introduce The Dirty Mac finds them referring to each other as “Winston” and “Michael” with Jagger affecting a convincingly flat American accent and Lennon referring to himself as “Winston Leg-Thigh.” The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus was directed by pioneering music video director Michael Lindsay-Hogg. Audio for the main program has been remixed in 5.1 surround sound. Visual source for the DVD is a new digital transfer from the original 16mm negatives. ABKCO Records will release The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus for the first time on DVD October 12th. * The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus Big Screen Concert will be presented at the following locations: Market State Theatre and Address BIRMINGHAM AL REGAL TRUSSVILLE 16 5895 Trussville Crossings Parkway, Birmingham, AL HUNTSVILLE- AL REGAL HOLLYWOOD 18 - HUNTSVILLE DECATUR 3312 South Memorial Parkway, Huntsville, AL LITTLE ROCK AR UA BRECKENRIDGE VILLAGE 12 1200 Breckenridge Dr., Little Rock, AR PHOENIX AZ UA SCOTTSDALE PAVILIONS 11 9090 East Indian Bend, Scottsdale, AZ LOS ANGELES CA EDWARDS IRVINE SPECTRUM 21 65 Fortune Drive, Irvine, CA SACRAMENTO CA REGAL NATOMAS MARKETPLACE 16 3561 Truxel Road, Sacramento, CA SAN FRANCISCO CA REGAL HACIENDA CROSSINGS 20 5000 Dublin Blvd, Dublin, CA DENVER CO UA DENVER PAVILIONS 15 500 16Th Street #310, Denver, CO HARTFORD CT REGAL BRANFORD STADIUM 12 325 E Main St, Branford, CT MIAMI FL REGAL SAWGRASS 23 2600 Northwest 136th Avenue, Sunrise, FL ORLANDO FL REGAL WINTER PARK VILLAGE 20 510 North Orlando Ave., Winter Park, FL TAMPA FL REGAL CITRUS PARK 20 7999 Citrus Park Town Center Mall, Tampa, FL W. • BWTB Nov. 13Th Dukes 2016
1 Playlist Nov. 13th 2016 LIVE! From DUKES in Malibu 9AM / OPEN Three hours non stop uninterrupted Music from JPG&R…as we broadcast LIVE from DUKES in Malibu…. John Lennon – Steel and Glass - Walls And Bridges ‘74 Much like “How Do You Sleep” three years earlier, this is another blistering Lennon track that sets its sights on Allen Klein (who had contributed lyrics to “How Do You Sleep” those few years before). The Beatles - Revolution 1 - The Beatles 2 The first song recorded during the sessions for the “White Album.” At the time of its recording, this slower version was the only version of John Lennon’s “Revolution,” and it carried that titled without a “1” or a “9” in the title. Recording began on May 30, 1968, and 18 takes were recorded. On the final take, the first with a lead vocal, the song continued past the 4 1/2 minute mark and went onto an extended jam. It would end at 10:17 with John shouting to the others and to the control room “OK, I’ve had enough!” The final six minutes were pure chaos with discordant instrumental jamming, plenty of feedback, percussive clicks (which are heard in the song’s introduction as well), and John repeatedly screaming “alright” and moaning along with his girlfriend, Yoko Ono. Ono also spoke random streams of consciousness on the track such as “if you become naked.” This bizarre six-minute section was clipped off the version of what would become “Revolution 1” to form the basis of “Revolution 9.” Yoko’s “naked” line appears in the released version of “Revolution 9” at 7:53.

  • Course Outline and Syllabus the Fab Four and the Stones: How America Surrendered to the Advance Guard of the British Invasion
Course Outline and Syllabus The Fab Four and the Stones: How America surrendered to the advance guard of the British Invasion. This six-week course takes a closer look at the music that inspired these bands, their roots-based influences, and their output of inspired work that was created in the 1960’s. Topics include: The early days, 1960-62: London, Liverpool and Hamburg: Importing rhythm and blues and rockabilly from the States…real rock and roll bands—what a concept! Watch out, world! The heady days of 1963: Don’t look now, but these guys just might be more than great cover bands…and they are becoming very popular…Beatlemania takes off. We can write songs; 1964: the rock and roll band as a creative force. John and Paul, their yin and yang-like personal and musical differences fueling their creative tension, discover that two heads are better than one. The Stones, meanwhile, keep cranking out covers, and plot their conquest of America, one riff at a time. The middle periods, 1965-66: For the boys from Liverpool, waves of brilliant albums that will last forever—every cut a memorable, sing-along winner. While for the Londoners, an artistic breakthrough with their first all--original record. Mick and Keith’s tempestuous relationship pushes away band founder Brian Jones; the Stones are established as a force in the music world. Prisoners of their own success, 1967-68: How their popularity drove them to great heights—and lowered them to awful depths. It’s a long way from three chords and a cloud of dust.

It could be considered a progression from “This Boy” with its similar chord structure and intricate harmonies by John and Paul, recorded – at their request – together on one microphone. Performed live on their world tour throughout the summer of 1964. Completed in 15 takes on February 27, 1964. Flip side of “And I Love Her” in the U.S. On U.S. album: A Hard Day’s Night - United Artists LP Something New - Capitol LP The Beatles - In My Life - Rubber Soul (Lennon-McCartney) Lead vocals: John with Paul Recorded October 18, 1965 and written primarily by John, who called it his “first real major piece of work.” Of all the Lennon-McCartney collaborations only two songs have really been disputed by John and Paul themselves -- “Eleanor Rigby” and “In My Life.” Both agree that the lyrics are 100% Lennon, but John says Paul helped on the musical bridge, while Paul recalls writing the entire melody on John’s Mellotron.

Mick Jagger. Archive to 1962 Photo: Photofest. As the “world’s greatest rock ’n’ roll band” celebrates its golden jubilee this year, the Museum of Modern Art in New York pays tribute with a heady cinematic survey: “THE ROLLING STONES: 50 YEARS OF FILM” (NOVEMBER 15–DECEMBER 2). But 2012 marks another anniversary as well. Forty years ago, the Stones embarked on a legendary tour to promote their new album, Exile on Main St., and they engaged two very different filmmakers—Robert Frank and Rollin Binzer—to document the affair on celluloid, producing wildly divergent results: Cocksucker Blues and Ladies and Gentlemen: The Rolling Stones, respectively. Film historian DAVID E. JAMES traces the events that would ultimately transform the band’s extraordinary engagement with the medium—and with the very public on which not only their stardom but their cultural significance depended. WITH THE BEATLES’ FINAL PERFORMANCE on the roof of the Apple Records building at the beginning of 1969, documented in Michael Lindsay-Hogg’s film Let It Be (1970), the Rolling Stones’ claim to being the greatest rock band in the world was now uncontested.

  • How the Rolling Stones Amassed a Fortune Where Others Have Failed
How the Rolling Stones Amassed a Fortune Where Others Have Failed Last week Mick Jagger shared some video of his cardio workout routine. There he was dancing and moving to the music like only Mick can. Jagger was showing the world that, despite recent heart surgery, he is not slowing down. After years of hard touring and the excesses of the rock and roll lifestyle, Mick, Keith, and the rest of the Stones remain vital. During decades of near constant work, during which many of their contemporaries have failed, they have amassed fortunes. I described their investing process back in January of 2003. I wrote: Geezers in Wheelchairs… This year is the 40th anniversary of the world’s greatest rock & roll band—the Rolling Stones. Grizzled but game, the Stones truck on with their 15th North American tour. “Always precocious, the Stones at 60 look a lot like Segovia at 90: Keep the morgue on standby,” wrote the very funny Joe Queenan in the WSJ. The Stones are big business, real big business. As Fortune noted in its recent cover story, “The Stones have made more money than U2, or Springsteen, or Michael Jackson…or the Who—or whoever.” The topgrossing North American tour of all time was the Stones’ 1994 Voodoo Lounge tour. With a gross of over $120 million, these guys know how to make money and how to keep it. Jagger went to the London School of Economics. For me and perhaps for you, the really big news on the Stones is the recent hybrid (two layers) SACD release of the band’s pre-1971 material owned by Allen Klein and his ABKCO Records (the Stones’ longtime early label).

UNCLASSIFIED U.S. Department of State Case No. F-2014-20439 Doc No. C05773954 Date: 08/31/2015 RELEASE IN PART B6 From: Ebeling, Betsy < B6 Sent: Friday, October 22, 2010 11:03 AM To: Subject: for your mom Keith Richards Has Memories to Burn By JANET MASLIN It is 3 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time in the New York office of Keith Richards's manager, a place that might look ordinary if every wall and shelf were not crammed with some of the world's most glorious rock 'n' roll memorabilia. Mr. Richards has a 3 o'clock appointment. "Come on in, he'll be here in a minute," an assistant says — and here he comes in a minute, at 3:01. This from a man who once prided himself for operating on Keith Time, as in: the security staff ate the shepherd's pie that Keith wanted in his dressing room? Then everyone in this packed stadium can bloody well wait. The Rolling Stones don't play until another shepherd's pie shows up. Chalk up the promptness to the man's new incarnation: he is now Keith Richards, distinguished author. True, he is far from the only rock star to turn memoirist, and far from the only Rolling Stone to write a book about himself — very much about himself. The raven-haired Ron Wood wrote "Ronnie," in which he described Brian Jones as "me in a blond wig." Bill Wyman, the band's retired bass player and bean counter, wrote "Stone Alone," in which not a 15-shilling demo disc went unmentioned.
