Over the years, the local focus has expanded and the RCAP currently has over 300 active and associate members throughout the United States and Canada. Today these candy makers and suppliers still share information to maintain a very high quality chocolate and hard candy. The History of the Philadelphia National Candy, Gift & Gourmet Show Founded in 1949 by a few local suppliers displaying at Christmas and Easter RCAP meetings, it was an instant success. Housed in Philadelphia’s Broadwood Hotel then the Ben Franklin Hotel, the show grew steadily. In 1961 it was moved to the Exhibit Hall of the Sheraton at what is now Philadelphia Suburban Station. Exhibitors numbered 35, some with multiple booths. In 1974, the show celebrated 25 years with the 20 “originals” still in the buyers guide. By the mid-eighties, relocation was critical to accommodate continued expansion and in 1984, the show moved to the Valley Forge Convention Center. By then, 85 exhibitors were showing, many with expanded multi-booth displays. Attendance soared into the thousands and by 1989 floor space had doubled again. In 2006, the show moved to The Atlantic City Convention Center in order to accommodate all exhibitors on one show floor and provide a destination for attendees to incorporate business, networking opportunities and fun into their visit. In January 2016, the show moved back to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, co- locating with the Philadelphia Gift Show. In the next few years, visit the show in Cherry Hill, NJ, Lancaster, PA and back in Atlantic City as we accommodate all our many wonderful attendees and exhibitors. She graduated from the Arcadia University Fine Arts Department in 2011 with a BFA in Painting. After working with standard painting mediums, Kirsten experimented with chocolate. When asked about the challenges of painting with chocolate Kirsten says, “Painting with chocolate is a vastly different process when compared to oil or acrylic paints. Chocolate must be tempered and maintain a specific consistency to be workable. Additionally, it dries significantly faster. You must work quickly which is why it is the most demanding ways to paint.” Since Painting with chocolate, Kirsten has completed numerous works for the RCAP, Candy, Gift & Gourmet Shows and “Hot Chocolate” events raising money for ALS. 6 PHILADELPHIA NATIONAL CANDY GIFT & GOURMET SHOW • www.phillycandyshows.com TABLE OF CONTENTS Exhibitor Listing Page 9 Floor Plan Page 11 Confectionary Institute Page 12 Seminar Schedule Page 16 Full Exhibitor Details Page 18 Product Spotlight Page 29 What’s New Page 31 Show Specials Page 32 SHOW HOURS: January 26: 10am - 5pm January 27: 10am - 5pm January 28 : 10am - 3pm 501 8 PHILADELPHIA NATIONAL CANDY GIFT & GOURMET SHOW • www.phillycandyshows.com EXHIBITOR LISTING Alternative Air & Store Fixtures LLC 100 Asher’s Chocolates 109 Birnn Chocolates of Vermont 207 Blommer Chocolate Company 107 Brian Shube Consulting Inc. 503 Burke Candy & Ingredients, Inc. 310 Buy-Vue Displays 10 Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate 300 Casani Candy Company 104 Cherry Blossom CBD 401 Chocolate Chess Club 1 ChocoVision 306 Coe & Dru Inc. 410 Country Fresh Food & Confections 305 Duerr Packaging 406 Eurofins Microbiology Laboratories, Inc 407 Giambri’s Quality Sweets 12 H & C Sales 308 Hilliard’s Chocolate System 13 Holmes Sweet Homes 508 Indigo Global Trading 504 Jelly Belly Candy Company 205 Linnea’s Candy Supplies 307 Lucille’s Own Make Candies 208 Madelaine Chocolate Company 105 Met Speed Label 211 Mid-Atlantic Gourmet 16 MOD-PAC Corporation 200 Murnane Specialties, Inc 110 Plantation Candies 210 RCAP 6 Royal Wholesale Candy 405 Simplex Paper Box 411 Skip’s Candies-Nut Free 400 #TechStarters 11 The Bites Company 206 The Ribbon Print Company 409 Victoria’s Candies 501 Wandix International, Inc. 509 Weaver Nut Company, Inc. 505 PHILADELPHIA NATIONAL CANDY GIFT & GOURMET SHOW • www.phillycandyshows.com
