Clubhouse Policy We at SBSPT know and value the power of collaboration and parent participation. We have always encouraged parent participation in many ways. Beginning April of 2009, it is mandatory that you become an active participant in your child’s therapy sessions! This means, you will be putting together obstacle courses, leading fine motor activities, and getting messy with paint, flour, and other tactile mediums. Now, don’t worry, your child ’s therapist will provide the foundation of the treatment session and will be there to guide you in every step of the way. You might ask “why me?” When your child’s therapy session is over, it is you who your child is with until his or her next therapy session. We want to make sure that you know what to do during this time and that you are using the strategies and techniques we use during treatment. We would also appreciate it if you implemented the skills being introduced and taught in therapy. Here are some tips in making this a wonderful experience for you and your child. 1. Come with a positive and open minded attitude! 2. Wear comfortable clothes that you can get dirty in. 3. Wear socks to avoid injury. 4. Free your mind of “other things to do.” 5. Be courteous and respect other children and families in the clinic. Thank you for being an integral part of your child’s success! Get ready to have some FUN !
