Because it saw the salad dressing! 3 Word search Drawing Challenge Draw: • Something magical • Something smooth • A hope It’s up to you what you draw with these challenges, it can mean something different for you than it might be for someone else. Use different forms if you have them paint, pencils, felt tips, chalk, crayons. These can be helpful to layer up and bring texture if they suit your drawing. 4 Poetry I couldn’t believe it….. What is 7380 + 8364= What is 63- 56= 5 Maze Design your own scarf What you need: Plain scarf, permanent markers- lots of different colours, rubbing alcohol, a towel, newspaper and a paint brush. 1. Place your newspaper on a flat surface and then spread out your scarf. 2. Use the permanent markers to draw a design, whatever you fancy. 3. Lift the scarf and place the towel underneath it. 4. Paint the rubbing alcohol over the scarf, leave to dry. 5. Show off your scarf. 6 Read: The Pig by Roald Dahl In England once there lived a big And wonderfully clever pig. To everybody it was plain That Piggy had a massive brain. He worked out sums inside his head, There was no book he hadn’t read, He knew what made an airplane fly, He knew how engines worked and why. He knew all this, but in the end One question drove him round the bend: He simply couldn’t puzzle out What LIFE was really all about. What was the reason for his birth? Why was he placed upon this earth? His giant brain went round and round. Alas, no answer could be found. Till suddenly one wondrous night, All in a flash, he saw the light. He jumped up like a ballet dancer And yelled, “By gum, I’ve got the answer!” “They want my bacon slice by slice “To sell at a tremendous price! “They want my tender juicy chops “To put in all the butchers’ shops! “They want my pork to make a roast “And that’s the part’ll cost the most! “They want my sausages in strings! “They even want my chitterlings! 7 “The butcher’s shop! The carving knife! “That is the reason for my life!” Such thoughts as these are not designed To give a pig great peace of mind. Next morning, in comes Farmer Bland, A pail of pigswill in his hand, And Piggy with a mighty roar, Bashes the farmer to the floor . Now comes the rather grizzly bit So let’s not make too much of it, Except that you must understand That Piggy did eat Farmer Bland, He ate him up from head to toe, Chewing the pieces nice and slow. It took an hour to reach the feet, Because there was so much to eat, And when he’d finished, Pig, of course, Felt absolutely no remorse. Slowly he scratched his brainy head And with a little smile, he said, “I had a fairly powerful hunch “That he might have me for his lunch. “And so, because I feared the worst, “I thought I’d better eat him first.” 8 Sock skills With some rolled up socks, see how long you can keep them from touching the floor but batting them with your hands. • What is the longest rally you can do? • Can you bat the socks 100 times before they touch the floor? • Can you throw two lots of rolled up socks against a wall and then catch them, like you might have done when you were younger? • Can you set up some empty plastic bottles and throw the socks to knock them down. The study provides a snapshot of employment patterns and practices on programmes transmitted up to December 2012. The data is drawn from programme credits for UK commissioned television programmes, matched with the most comprehensive database of directors working on those programmes. It shows a worrying decrease in employment for women directors in the most recent 2 years analysed (i.e. 2011 and 2012), specifically in drama, entertainment and comedy. Key findings 0% Women directors have ever worked on many popular dramas and entertainment shows. 13% Drama episodes directed by women in 2011 and 2012, down from 14% of the total sample1.

Her AI class wasn't all that interesting, nor was it a field she wanted a career in, so there wasn't any reason she could see for trying especially hard. So she came up with a project that didn't look like too much work, and she picked what looked like the easiest way of doing it. Things just got a little out of hand, after that. Anji's AI class was taught by a grad student who seemed as bored as her students. It was a graduation requirement for programmers, even though everyone knew AIs, as a field, weren't going anywhere much. In seventy years of computing nobody yet had designed an AI that passed the Turing test, let alone did anything really interesting. No matter the computing power behind them, AIs just couldn't be as complex as a human brain; everyone knew that. Anji and her classmates still needed to know how to use the little crippleware bots that ran traffic lights and production lines, though, and that meant knowing the basics of AI programming. At least well enough to pass the final. So Anji decided to pick the easiest-looking project off the list of options: Design an AI that mimics the behavior of a public domain character. There was a list of characters to choose from, mostly stuff she'd never heard of. She picked Kermit the Frog because, she figured, there was a ton of footage of Kermit, even if it was mostly fifty years old, and she could just feed old TV shows to a bot until it started acting enough like Kermit to get her a passing grade.
