Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association for the period January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019. The spring 2019 sitting of the First Session of the 66th General Assembly began on June 14, 2019 with the Speech from the Throne delivered by the Honourable Antoinette Perry, Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Island and concluded on July 12, 2019. The fall session of the Second Session of the 66th General Assembly began on November 12, 2019 and concluded November 28, 2019. APRIL 2008 VOLUME 15 / NUMBER 2 $3 PM# 40064924 NOTE FROM THE CHAIR The MPWWA is committed to the improved operation of water and wastewater treatment plants through the better understanding of the design, construction and manage - ment of these facilities. Through the provision of regular “hands on” workshops and seminars, the association has enabled operators to upgrade their knowledge and has provided operators, especially those in smaller Maritime centres, with the opportunity to receive proper train - ing. The MPWWA encourages and facilitates an interchange of ideas between operators, professional and consultant engineers, contractors and other wastewater associations. In effect, the MPWWA provides an open forum for Atlantic Canada and has improved communications among operators, provincial govern - ments, industry and wastewater consultants across Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. What training opportunities are on the way? We have our 28th annual training seminar planned for April 20 to 23. At the event, we will be touching on several new technologies and introducing some of the latest equipment that is being used in the treatment of water and wastewater. In the coming months, there are also the following workshops lined up: • Electrical workshops at PEI's Holland College, Module #1 (May 5 to 6) and Module #2 (May 7 to 8). • Fire hydrant and valves workshops this spring, date and place TBA. E-2.1 (“the Act”). , C The Chair of the Commission was appointed by rder in ouncil on November 1st, 2016. The other members of the Commission were appointed by the speaker of the Legislative Assembly on December 6th, 2016.O C The members of the Commission are: Hon. Gerard Mitchell, chair, Lynn Murray Q.C., Elmer MacDonald, Kerri Carpenter and Elizabeth Shaw. Part One Mandate The function of the Commission as set out in the Act is to: (1) review the 27 electoral districts of the province and (2) make a report to the Legislative Assembly setting out its recommendations as to the areas, boundaries, and names of the districts of the Province. The Act directs the Commission to hold public meetings throughout the Province to enable representations to be made by any person as to the area and boundaries of any district. -
