Since its inception, the orchestra has turned to functioning as a training orchestra for students and alumni of Cal State Long Beach who are looking to work as session players in the recording studios of Los Angeles. Previous concerts have included the music from anime shows and films, a rock concert with a live band, a celebration of the music from Steven Universe, and a night of music with Irish singer-songwriter Chloë Agnew. The Studio Orchestra is a student organization under Associated Students, Inc. at CSULB.
