Its lines recall medieval and Renaissance architectural features, an eclectic combination not unpleasant although sometimes approximate. Around 1926 the building was completed with a tower with simple and three-lights windows. The side of the tower overlooking Piazza XX Settembre was enriched with a marble coat of arms showing the Visconti snake, dating back perhaps to the 14 th century, which was once above the main door of the old Customs House. It now hosts temporary exhibitions and the Section of Contemporary Art, of Graphics and Photography of the City Art Gallery, Osservatorio Alpinistico Lecchese and Polo della Montagna, where artifacts and documents belonging to CAI Lecco are collected. • Open from 1 st September 2020 to 31 st December: on Wednesdays from 14:00 to 18:00, from Thursdays to Sundays from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00. • Closed on Mondays (except on Easter Monday), Tuesdays and on main holidays (New Year’s Eve, Easter, 1 st May, Christmas and 26 th December). • Admission until 31 st December 2020: € 2,00 • Last admission 1 hour before closing. Opened in January 2005, the Planetarium is situated in a completely new wing of the Palace and it represents one of the best structures of this type in Italy. The room shows an exhibition of astronomical equipment (binoculars, telescopes, etc.) and reproduces the sky as it appears to the naked eye, with extreme realism and charm. But the heart of the Planetarium is the computerized projection system of the latest generation which can project the image of 3200 stars on a dome which acts as a screen. The Planetarium organizes projections, conferences and observations for adults and students. Every year April it hosts the National Astronautics Convention. • Museums: open from 1 st September 2020 to 31 st December 2020: on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10:00 to 13:00. • Closed on Mondays (except on Easter Monday), Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and on main holidays (New Year’s Eve, Easter, 1 st May, Christmas and 26 th December). • Admission until 31 st December 2020: € 2,00 • Last admission 1 hour before closing. The museum had been the mansion of the Manzoni family for two centuries. Inside the various rooms you can observe eighteenth-century frescoes, personal objects of the writer such as the cradle and baptismal kit, his and family portraits, inkwells. The "grisaglie room" has been refurbished with original furniture, while room 6 displays a series of original editions of Manzoni's works. There is also a "Manzoni Pop" room where visitors can open display cases and chests of drawers with examples of Italian and foreign books, texts by researchers from the typography of Manzoni's Places, comics, postcards.
