PARISH NEWSLETTER 25th August 2019 21st Sunday in OT PASTORS Abbot Paul Stonham and Dom Alistair Findlay Tel: 01432 - 374718 email:[email protected] www.belmontparish.org.uk Parish Rev Deacon Eddie Wyman Tel: 01432 - 263575 Safeguarding Representative Gabrielle Stanley 07939 472059 Articles for newsletter: [email protected] Dear friends in Christ, A few weeks ago I asked whether parishioners might have any suggestions concerning the Second Collection. Two local charities were suggested: Vennture ( Street Ministry) and the Hereford Hospital Born Sleeping Project. Both charities have now been incorporated into our annual programme. You can see the complete list on the notice board in the porch. We congratulate local pupils who recently received their A level and GCSE examination results. We pray that the Lord will bless them as they continue preparing for adult life. The future is in the hands of the young. It’s important to show them how confident we are in their ability to better the world we hand on to them. As summer comes gradually to an end, let’s pray for a good autumn that will benefit our local farmers. Let’s also thank God for the harvest and all the good things he gives us each day that make our lives so fulfilling and enjoyable. It’s good to give thanks to the Lord and to recognise how generous and loving he is. That’s why we use the Greek word for thank you and thanksgiving to describe our central act of worship, the Mass, by calling it the Eucharist.

God bless you all, Fr Paul
