ADRA 's OPEN

F ALL THE PROMISES in the Bible to God's children the passage in Matthew 25 regarding the reward of heaven is one of the most challenging. It is wonderful to rem the verses Owhere the King will say to those on His right, "Come, you who are blessed..., take your inheritance, the kingdom is prepared for you." In order to receive the blessing of the King, the invitation is simple but challenging—love others as yourself, and demonstrate your love for God in the way you treat those around you. In order to receive the blessing of the King, we are expected to hear and respond to the following call:

COME, for I am hungry COME, for I thirst COME, for I am a stranger CON 311

Let's Welcome Two Education Snack Shack New Pastors The teachers of the Maritime Conference, along with help from interested friends, have provided a service to Camp Meeting attendees. A hot food booth was operated serving a range of vegetarian quick food—hot dogs, burgers, perogies, burritos, etc. Many of our friends chose a quick meal there as a convenient alternative, or as a way of supporting Christian Education. Louis and Dorothy Moores, Earl and Betty Sheets, Jack and Bunny Everett, Ron and Deanna Fall, the teachers, and other strong supporters were the genius in preparing an aesthetic, sanitary environment, and then the tasty food service. Pathfinders Win Derby and Sportsmanship Award

Out of over 10,000 Pathfinders and staff attending this First International Pathfinder Camporee, some 807 were from Canada. Of the 168 British Colum- bians, 39 came with the Fraserview Club from Abbotsford. What a time they had and what surprises! While most everybody was "checking- out" the numerous well planned ac- tivities, the Fraserview Club spent much of two days winning "heats" at the Soap Box Derby. To Fraserview, Soap Box cars were almost unheard of until earlier this year, when an acquaintance "sold" them his 27 year old car for $50. After many hours of restoration work (including a new paint job), and meeting current rac- ing specifications, it was carefully transported to Denver. There the crew of 10 had their first ex- perience at competitive racing and met the challenge, both on the track and in demonstrating a high level of en- thusiasm, support and sportsmanship. Most of the 168 Pathfinders from British Columbia at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. They surprised even themselves by winning not only the club category, but also the Overall Title, never losing a Baptism at Golden "heat" in the process. As well, the 10 crew members received $20,000 (U.S.) in scholarships from the Union College for their efforts. Then to their amazement, they also received a special Sportsmanship Award for their behaviour and attitude during the Soap Box Derby.
