Taylor Hawkins from the Foo Fighters joined FALLOUT: The Police Experience for an unforgettable night of live Police music. Fans of both The Foo Fighters and The Police, including fellow Foo Dave Grohl, were on hand to see Taylor Hawkins, a known Stewart Copeland disciple, perform with FALLOUT: The Police Experience. With Hawkins behind the drums, FALLOUT rocked an hours worth of early Police material; including The Police classic When The World’s Running Down with Janes Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins taking over for Hawkins. More Hawkins/FALLOUT shows are in the works for this fall. See FALLOUT: The Police Experience performing September 9th at the House of Blues-Sunset and September 22nd, at The Sachi Bar in Long Beach, CA. Visit www.policeexperience.com for details. FALLOUT: The Police Experience hurls you back 20 years ago to re-live the raw, electrifying, event that was a Police concert. FALLOUT: The Police Experience is full evening that chronicles the supercharged live shows that transformed The Police from raw punk- reggae upstarts into chart dominating superstars. With extraordinary attention to detail, FALLOUT: The Police Experience, has amazed audiences wherever they have played. From young fans of 80s music who may not have even heard of The Police, to the most hardcore of fans and even members of The Police family themselves. “…you won’t believe it’s not The Police...completely captures, not just the music of The Police, but their very essence...absolutely amazing” Ian Copeland "...the best copy band I have seen to date…close your eyes and it's my boys..." Miles Copeland “…every nuance, all the drum parts, and the singer has Sting down to a tee…” Stewart Copeland In July 2003, Ian Copeland arranged the band to play Stewart Copeland's birthday party. With Ian, Stewart, and Miles in the audience, FALLOUT, ripped through all the classic Police tunes. Later in the evening, Stewart asked if he could sit in. FALLOUT and Stewart tore the house down with "Driven To Tears" and "Roxanne." For the band it was an honor and a solid affirmation of their efforts to play with one of the world’s most talented rock drummers ever and the founding member of The Police! -more- …musical tribute to The Police (page 2) Whether it's a club, festival, private party or corporate function, FALLOUT: The Police Experience is an exciting, high-energy show that will amaze audiences and provide an adrenaline filled burst of nostalgia to anyone who spent their formative years in the 80s. FALLOUT: The Police Experience was formed by David Rasner, (Sting), in the fall of 2002, in Hollywood, California. Named after the first single The Police, (unsigned, unknown, and without a record), released. When Mike Nieland, (Stewart), and then Pat Cherry, (Andy), were recruited, the band began to transform itself into a “fighting unit”, and within a year was playing every major club in Los Angeles. “Uncle” Ian Copeland met FALLOUT in 2003, and immediately befriended the band. He invited FALLOUT to play at The Backstage Café and arranged the meeting with Stewart. FALLOUT: The Police Experience was added to Coda Agency/The Copeland Group’s live roster in March of 2005. In the spring of 2006, Jimbo Head replaced Pat Cherry as FALLOUT’s guitarist. YO! “Reggatta de Blanc (White Reggae) & the Commercial Rock Industry: Intersections of Race, Culture, and Appropriation in Bob Marley and The Police (1977-1983)” Colin Carey Music University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Introduction Ethical Concerns Origins of Reggae This project was designed to approach a discussion about cultural and The appropriation of culturally sensitive music and expression is a musical appropriation in popular music. • Dave Grohl's Growth Mindset
! Handout 2 - Dave Grohl’s Growth Mindset To some, Dave Grohl is the drummer from the groundbreaking Seattle “Grunge” band Nirvana. Other music fans likely know him as the guitarist, vocalist, frontman, and songwriter of the arena- filling band, Foo Fighters. Still others that have seen Grohl on the HBO series Sonic Highways or the documentary Sound City may recognize him as a music historian and film director. The truth is that Dave Grohl is all of the above. Thinking back to his childhood during an episode of the Sonic Highways series, Grohl remembers his artistic “light bulb” turning on during a family vacation to Chicago. Grohl, only twelve at the time, accompanied a cousin to a local Punk concert. It was awesome. He left the show inspired, asking himself, “why can’t I do this?” Then, he realized he could. Once home in Springfield, VA, a Beltway suburb about thirteen miles from the White House, the young Grohl tapped into D.C.’s thriving Punk scene. He befriended members of the local music community such as Ian MacKaye, a go-getter who played bass in Teen Idles, sang in Minor Threat, and later handled guitar and vocals in Fugazi, all while co-founding the Dischord Records label. In the mid and late 1980s, the major record labels, radio, and MTV--basically all the national tastemakers--were mostly focused on Glam Rock, Synth Pop, and Michael Jackson. D.C. Punk wasn’t even on their radar. But, rather than get discouraged or bitter about the lack of outside investment, many in the D.C.

SEW WHAT? INC. CREATES KABUKI SNIFFER DRAPE FOR FOO FIGHTERS 20TH ANNIVERSARY BLOWOUT TOUR DRAMATIC KABUKI DRAPE AND SNIFFER CREATED BY SEW WHAT? INC., AS WELL AS DAVE Rancho Dominguez, CA GROHL’S EPIC THRONE, SHOWCASED DURING FOO July 16, 2015 FIGHTERS 20TH ANNIVERSARY BLOWOUT TOUR. Foo Fighters’ 4th of July show, which was part of the Foo Fighters 20th Anniversary Blowout tour, was memorable for fans on several accounts. The show, held in RFK Stadium in Washington DC, was the first on Foo Fighters US leg. It was a raucous celebration of their adrenalin pumping rock, since Dave Grohl’s and Foo Fighters’ album debut over 20 years ago. Due to lead singer’s Dave Grohl’s broken leg, which occurred in falling off a stage in fall in Sweden on June 12, 2015, the stage set added an epic “throne” which Grohl himself designed to sit at while he played. Featuring more than a dozen guitars, black leather chair, and large “FF logo”, someone even dubbed the tour the “Foo Fighters’ throne tour” in its honor. Added to this, the concert’s 4th of July show drama and opening set was further enhanced by some dramatic stage drape magic: a kabuki reveal and sniffer effect created by stage drapery manufacturer, Sew What? Inc., of Rancho Dominugez, CA. (See Paul Roma’s video here.) “Each year numerous bands and artist’s stage designs are completed by Sew What? Inc. which include kabuki drapes as part the performance”, says Sew What? Inc, and sister company, Rent What? Inc. owner, Megan Duckett.
