Xenoblade Chronicles X Play Journal Entries Stagger Lanayru79 12/19/2015 10:47 AM The fifth journal entry during this initial 100% XCX playthrough will be contained here, and starts with putting big boy and girl pants on. I've gotten close to taking out Eutropia, Sea Rumble for a Segment Recon Tyrant percentage bump, but might have to bring in a fourth Skell to finish the job. After a few various cleanup efforts like this one, I'll play Chapter 7. If the combat didn't boil down to rudimentary raw power and very basic tactics, the four blank slate garage added to about 20 characters would be forgiven. I still love the game. I understand the intent and necessity, and your point about relative exploration prior to licensing is meritorious. Fun mission here - but I want to track down Alex. E Yeah♥ e 0 D Matthew 12/20/2015 11:32 AM The combat is less fun than on foot, I agree there. I don't have any arts on my skell yet, all the fights are me just staring at the thing while is fights. It's fun right now on account of how awesome it is, but later probably less so. Don't worry, I have a few qualms to pick with this game as well, however, skells aren't really a big offender. E Yeah! e 0 D Stagger 12/20/2015 11:49 AM ·Spoilers Oh it's still the greatest game I've played at this point, outside select LoZ titles, experiences that don't take four to six weeks to fully enjoy. :p Personal preferences, etc ... The Definian shapeshifters strike a third time, this one involving tactical espionage and deceptive treason. Great Mission here too! I'm actually heading out for Star Wars after this though, so my list remains lengthy. E Yeah♥ e 0 D Zachary 12/20/2015 11:52 AM How's the game play different for the older one? E Yeah! e 0 Nintendoer 12/20/2015 1:50 PM Completely agreed on Skell combat. Very, very simplistic compared to on the ground, and relies on luck (whether or not you can stagger the enemy, go into cockpit view, etc.) more than anything. No leveling up arts. No secondary cool downs. No equipping skills. Not much variety in the arts either. E Yeah! e 1 D Nintendoer 12/20/2015 1:53 PM I do not, however, agree with exploration. I don't know, maybe I'm just misunderstanding your complaint, but I didn't re-explore the world on a Skell. I went to specific areas I couldn't previously reach, tried to get there on a Skell (succeeding a couple times), and that was the end of that. More than anything I use it as a faster method of transportation getting from landmark A to destination B. E Yeah! e 1 D Stagger 12/20/2015 3:56 PM I did the same thing 'doer, but as a backtracking mechanic it's a bit perturbing. My complaint is based on world size. Jump higher and further? Bah. Flight? Yes, I can dig that. Imo, best Star Wars film since Jedi btw ... The ending to that caper was amazing before movie time! I've got three parties I'm highly interested to track down whereabouts for now in NLA as a result of those two Missions. E Yeah! e 0 D Stagger 12/20/2015 4:04 PM ·Spoilers @Zachary: There are a number of differences big and small, but the core elements of gameplay are intact. You'll see soon! So the next two Normal Missions on my agenda take me to Noctilum. So does H.B.'s first Affinity Mission since his joining up affair there. H.B. claims the sewing circle thinks Vandham's successor is either him or I, and then is flattered into a tough assignment. E Yeah! e 1 D Stagger 12/20/2015 4:26 PM ·Spoilers ... which isn't my first priority. Lara Nara's important BLADE Mission led to an immigration of one new xenoform. Perhaps this investigation of activity in Dead Man's Gulch will lead to a group representing another new one coming to NLA. The Ganglion took the loss of that huge mech hard, and sent these interesting folks out to survey the site. E Yeah♥ e 0 D Elzonire 12/20/2015 4:28 PM You know, the way you talk about the Skells, it almost sounds like Epona. Unlikable, unhelpful, impossible to control, and pointless. Except Epona as a CHARACTER is fine. E Yeah! e 1 Stagger 12/20/2015 4:43 PM Bingo! Except the unnecessary part ... which is the real crux Elzo-sama. However, they are giant robots. It is kind of cool. Just too many equipment slots, dictating the Arts palette, adding to my other complaints ... Nice! These, um, I'll call them Toboggans until I get the name down, have a lot of promise. This guy's staff is effectively his respiratory system? New incoming Missions! E Yeah! e 2 D Zachary 12/20/2015 4:48 PM I guess I'm being ignored....:/ E Yeah... e 0 Stagger 12/20/2015 5:00 PM ·Spoilers Negative Zachary, I answered you a few comments ago bro. Zaruboggan? I think that's the spelling. They have a deity based belief system, seem to subsist on refuse that they call Voltant, and have greater numbers than my previous two immigrations. A trio of simple Basic Missions ... ah, these transplant moments are well conceived portions of the task-oriented sections in the game. E Yeah! e 0 D Zachary 12/20/2015 5:03 PM Oh I don't look in meny spoilers so... Yea sorry about that. E Yeah... e 1 Stagger 12/20/2015 5:50 PM ·Spoilers No time is wasted getting to the heart of Zaruboggan concerns. Exploited first by a Ma-non for technological curiosity and now a human for profit potential, these hazmat solutions are in need of defense to strengthen a fledgling alliance. As always, great pacing and cool tasks ... I've one on a religious mission to Noctilum to retrieve too. XCX continually puts meat on the bones of its mythos. E Yeah! e 0 D Stagger 12/20/2015 6:33 PM ·Spoilers This was inevitable. I actually checked the waste processing plany in the Industrial District right away when the Zaruboggan came to town, but apparently completing their three Normal Missions I could find triggered Liza to express her need for help. Like I would suggest another xenoform as the best help ... she already has a Ma-non and Prone employee. These are the trashmen of a brave new worl! E Yeah! e 0 D Stagger 12/20/2015 6:53 PM *plant* *world* Ahem, two lists that grow during this fun process between Chapters are the relocated named characters for Affinity Chart updates, and the Tyrants to round up for the Enemy Index. In some cases, they're too tough for the patchwork Active Parties thrown together for other goals. Not this one - and as a great bonus outside the Info system, one of my new friends provided the tip. E Yeah! e 0 D Matthew 12/20/2015 7:17 PM Best game outside of Zelda titles? Disagree there heavily, although I am of the undertsnading that you don't play much outside of Xenoblade, Zelda and Metroid. E Yeah! e 0 D Stagger 12/20/2015 7:26 PM ·Spoilers My knowledge is pretty broad though Matthew. It's an informed decision to limit my interests. Go ahead and name some superior stuff. It's also about as subjective a discussion as can be engaged in, so ... I'm satisfied that the Zuboggan's are well tended to, so it's back to the exceptional plight of the Orphe. One sacrifice was already made by these dwindling Xenos. Another might not see as nice E Yeah! e 0 D Matthew 12/20/2015 7:34 PM That's exactly what I'm thinking, it's very subjective. I'm also 35 hours in, so my opinion will probably change. While I can name many more games as a whole I enjoyed a bit more, comparing this to Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze or Super Mario 64 is absurd. Along the line of other RPGs, though, EarthBound, FERnK, FESS, and Child of Light may be a bit more fair. Even in the realm of open E Yeah! e 0 D Stagger 12/20/2015 7:35 PM ·Spoilers an ending - but what's this? I pressed hard to take this chance. Kun'luarb discovered just one drop of the senirapa water the Orphe need to divide themselves, and I persisted in taking a course of action that it be used to cheat his death in the novel progenitor role each plays. Now it's up to me to find more and get it to Kon'luarb, who discovered how to replicate it from an initial sample. E Yeah!? e 0 D Matthew 12/20/2015 7:36 PM world games it is rivaled by the likes of Skyrim, Fallout, Minecraft (which just saw a Wii U release btw). Although this series I dislike compared to the others, many people say GTA is the king of open world games.
