Sports Hub Fact Sheet Fact Sheet About Singapore Sports Hub . A state-of-the-art sporting facility designed to take Singapore’s sporting ambitions to the next level . World-class venue that will be the best in the region . Developed and managed by SportsHub Pte Ltd in partnership with the Singapore Sports Council and other organisations . The Sports Hub is the largest sports facilities infrastructure Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) project in the world. It is also the largest PPP project in Singapore . 3,000 car park lots . 2,000 sq m concourse . 800 trees planted or transplanted National Stadium The new 55,000 capacity National Stadium will feature a retractable roof and comfort cooling for spectators. The canopy, which has a span of 14,000 sq m, opens and lights up in 12 minutes. It will be the centerpiece of the Sports Hub, and is strategically oriented towards the waterfront and city skyline beyond. It is a multi-functional sports facility capable of hosting numerous international- scale events such as football, athletics, rugby, cricket as well as concerts and the National Day Parade Singapore Indoor Stadium 12,000 seating capacity which will also continue operating as the largest multi-purpose indoor facility for concerts, musicals, family entertainment and other major indoor sporting events during the construction process Multi Purpose Indoor Arena A 3,000 capacity space which will be scalable and flexible (MPIA) in layout, capable of accommodating indoor sporting events such as badminton, fencing, silat, wushu, gymnastics, table tennis, shooting, cue sports and others Aquatic Centre With a capacity of 3,000 spectators and capable of expanding to 6,000 temporary seating, the Aquatic Centre is designed to cater to elite athlete training and competition, as well as general public recreation.     ITE AND SINGAPORE SPORTS HUB INK WORK-BASED PARTNERSHIP Provide hands-on work experience for career head-start World-class destination and staff to help students learn and grow First partnership with post-secondary education institution Singapore, 17 March 2015 – Singapore Sports Hub (SSH) and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding which will see Singapore Sports Hub provide practical working experience and hands-on learning opportunities to ITE students of all three ITE Colleges. The partnership is the first of its kind to provide students with training and industry experience to develop competencies in sports and recreation management, through a series of internship opportunities at the Singapore Sports Hub. This is aligned with SkillsFuture, as the close partnership will give students work experience and mentorship to enhance mastery of skills to prepare them for their careers. The enrolment of students began in October 2014, however today represents the official signing of the Memorandum of Understanding. As part of the three-year agreement, SSH will work closely with ITE to identify and provide opportunities in event management, sports and recreation management, customer service, business, hospitality operations for ITE staff and students to participate in. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Mr Philippe Collin Delavaud, Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore Sports Hub, and Mr Bruce Poh, Director and Chief Executive Officer of ITE, and witnessed by Mr Lawrence Wong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth. “We feel privileged to be forging this new partnership with ITE today. As a principal provider of career and technical education in Singapore, they are best placed to help us nurture talent for the local sports and recreation scene.
