Today's territory of Decan was inhabited by Illyrian tribes, respectively the Dardan tribe. Traces of autochthony and presence dardans in the region of Decani municipality, as well as in other regions of Kosovo are: ethnographic, cultural, historical toponyms, topographical, archeological and anthropological. This is demonstrated by a series of Austrian and Turkish archival documents. Even today, in the municipality of Decani with surroundings, there exist traces of the seven Catholic Illyrian churches and monuments other as "veku" of Kaurreshës (Queen), then traces of Tumaveilire, decorative materials from ornaments and other. The first written notes, in which is mentioned Deçan and several of its villages, are quite old. They are mentioned in an old document named " Krisobula" of Deçan, in 1330. Rik Van de Walle October 2019 i English Summary This dissertation examines the motives and central visions of three student demonstrations, each taking place within different historical and political contexts and each organized by a different generation of Kosovo Albanian students. The years 1968, 1981 and 1997 witnessed a proliferation of student mobilizations as collective responses demanding more national rights for Albanians in Kosovo. I argue that the students' main vision in all three movements was the political independence of Kosovo. Given the complexity of the students' goal, my analysis focuses on the influence and reactions of domestic and foreign powers vis-à-vis the University of Prishtina (hereafter UP), the students and their movements. Fueled by their desire for freedom from Serbian hegemony, the students played a central role in "preserving" and passing from one generation to the next the vision of "Republic" status for Kosovo. Kosova Republikë or the Republic of Kosovo (hereafter RK) status was a demand of all three student demonstrations, but the students' impact on state creation has generally been underestimated by politicians and public figures. Thus, the primary purpose of this study is to unearth the various and hitherto unknown or hidden roles of higher education – then the UP – and its students in shaping Kosovo's recent history.

Two years later we moved to Skopje where my brother Genc was born and after two other years we moved to Prizren and then from Prizren we moved to Gjakova, which was the hometown of my mother and my father, then I continued elementary school in Prizren. And the Shkolla e Mesme e Artit1 in the ​ beautiful Peja, after five years of studying there I went to University at the University of Arts in Belgrade, there I spent five years studying in the same academy. Then, I finished the Masters Degree, I mean the post—graduation studies and in the meantime there was an open call all around Yugoslavia according to which the Japanese government was giving a scholarship for a two year artistic residency in Japan, I won it and went to Japan to study for two years.

    ISSN: 2065-0175 ŒCONOMICA Level of Development and Pretection of Economic Competition in Kosovo-Case Study Gjilan Region Gani Asllani1, Bedri Statovci3 Abstract: This paper investigates development and protection of economic competition in Kosovo focusing on the analysis of the level of competition in the Gjilan region. The paper deals with the legislative aspect of competition, the sensitive sectors (banks, insurance, gas stations and pharmacies) where the competitions is damaged and finally are presented the measures on improvement based on the EU practices. Like other economies in transition, the economy in Kosovo the activity for protection of competition is faced with many challenges. Moreover, these challenges result from the fact that Kosovo was the last country in South-eastern Europe to start implementing the principles of a free market economy after 1999. Through a case study, it is attempted to give a realistic picture of the level of competition development, where competition is undermined, general business knowledge about the functioning and enforcement of the law on competition protection, and concrete measures to be taken in order for competition to function based on the rules of the market economy. Illyrians, as successors of the Pellazg and predecessors of Albanians, were among the oldest and autochthonous inhabitants of the Western Balkans, from the river Danube branches, rivers Sava and Drava in the North, to the Ambrakia Bay (Preveze) in the South; and in the east they also populated Western Macedonia. Historic literature and different maps, especially geographic and ethnographic maps, published during the centuries, witness best about the position of the territory and Albanian ethnicity in this part of the Balkans. This paper analyzes, main cartographic material (especially geographic and ethnographic maps) published in different times, and through them assesses spatial spreading of the Albanian territory and occupation of a vast part of the territory by neighbor countries.
