We have had the best summer, with two youth clubs running throughout. Both the Youthouse and Chartwell Youth Centre were very well attended this year. Our summer programme included trip to Go Ape, London to see Britain’s Got Talent, Romsey Rapids by train, adventure golf in Hedge End and a weekend residential to Osmington Bay.

Due to bad weather we rescheduled the Community Games until 21st August. It was still a great success with over 240 people taking part. We would like to thank Hedge End Police, the Fire Service, and West End church for the use of their BBQ’s. We are already looking forward to next year.

We have lots planned for the next few months, including a trip to the London Dungeons for Halloween and our annual trip to the Mayflower Theatre at Christmas to see the panto.

6 WEST END PARISH NEWSLETTER OCTOBER 2019 Well, Summer has been and gone, and it seems like a long time since Carnival Day. And, what a day. Not only did we have more entrants in our Procession, but more Stalls and Rides at our “Fete in the Hatch”. Our Children's TV theme saw lots of imaginative, colourful entries. Residents and visitors lined the High Street to watch, and then came along to be entertained with the Musical Acts in the Fete Arena. Blue Cross ran our popular Dog Show, and the entire day was deemed a great success.

A GREAT BIG Thank You to all the Businesses, Volunteer Groups and Residents of West End, and surrounds. With your help we managed to raise over £4200, which were awarded to the various groups who took part. We are so lucky to have a thriving Carnival, in an age where up and down the country, events like this are on the decrease. All the folks involved in running the Carnival are volunteers, and we are always looking for new, enthusiastic people to join the committee. If you can spare some time, we would love to hear from you.

Did you know that Noah’s Ark Pre-School at Townhill Farm Community Centre has been rated ‘Outstanding’ on its last 3 inspections by Ofsted? - 2010, 2012 and 2017.

With a love of exploration, discovery and adventure our children thrive in our homely natural environment. Every day they can make their own playdough (today it’s with fresh tomato’s we grew in our garden), prepare their own snack, and learn how to build towers bigger than them!

The children discover the world of stories and imagination in our library which has over 1000 books for the children to choose from - will it be pirates, fairies or a digger book they choose to share.

We love the outdoors and have our very own Forest School - led by our qualified staff we all put on our rucksacks and head out to West End Copse every week.

This term we are excited to launch:-

A new Community Play Link ‘Toy Library’ - that everyone registered at our pre- school and group can access. With access to over 4000 toys the children can choose something new every week.

On Tuesday 8th October a new group for children aged birth - 4!

Play together - Learn Together

Every week we will have songs, stories and rhymes

All children are welcome to attend

To find out more about Noah’s Ark please visit our website or contact us on 07887 623981 / email [email protected] and don’t forget to follow our Facebook Noahs Ark Preschool.West End to keep up to date with our exciting news.
