ADORNMEANT DAT AND I, When it came time to close the doors on Bourke Street, it seemed that forty years of history and service may also come to an end. However, as one door closes another opens. Dat Van and I decided then that we wanted to create something new from the 165-year-old Jewellery, Art and Object Emporium known as Kozminsky. We envisioned everything in our upstairs salon overlooking the Plane trees of Collins Street. Opening the doors here is the next chapter in the Kozminsky history. Having experienced much support and encouragement from our clients, we knew that offering our knowledge and expertise in a new format, at this new location, was ideal. Dat and I together, offer service unique to each client, situation, and personal style. Ours is a bespoke service that remains passionate long after the transaction. On the throne for over 63 years and in mourning for her beloved Albert for forty years, she created a fashion in mourning jewellery that permeated all levels of society. Black enamel, pearl, jet, onyx and bog oak were all employed in jewellery to commemorate a loved one. Lockets, brooches, crosses and rings, worn close to the heart, were reminders of family and friends. A time of over blown decoration, and grand style, it was not for the faint hearted.
