It was quarried from Tura, Masara and Moqattam hills It was discovered in the funerary temple of King Amenhotep III, on the west bank of Thebes. Importance It is the hugest statue displayed in the Egyptian Museum, as it measures 7 meters in height. Moreover, it shows Queen Tiye in the same level of her husband Amenhotep III, which indicates her distinguished rank and status as a powerful queen. O Queen Tiye is shown wearing with heavy thick hair wig that leaves hair ears exposed. O This wig is surmounted with the vulture cap, as the vulture head appears on her forehead flanked by two cobras . O It dates to 18th dynasty, king Amenhotep III O Importance : This statue is due to the fact that Amenhotep son of Hapu intended here to represent himself as a young man full of youth and energy. It was discovered by Legrain inside the Karnak cachette, in front of the 7th pylon, at the Karnak complex. O Importance : This statue is due to the fact that Amenhotep son of Hapu intended here to represent himself as an old man full of wisdom and knowledge.
