Stock listed as per the Contents Page is either operational or stored on the various Network Rail, Preserved and Private railway lines / sites in the UK. Former UK stock exported or preserved abroad is also listed. The full list of std gauge industrial steam locos is included for the first time in this edition. Northern Irish stock which used to be provided in a separate book is not currently included but may well be in the future.
