Rebecca VanLaeken 6 15 • The netminder is ranked 4th in the nation when it comes to overall saves, having stopped 66 shots so far this year. • She’s also ranked first in the country in saves per game, averaging 13.00 per game. • The former MAAC Defensive Player of the Year, didn’t wait long to show what she can do this season, tying a program-best 20 saves against Northwestern. • The record was set by now head coach, Allison Daley, as she posted 20 against Siena in an 11-7 victory on April 16, 2010. Goals By Period Scoring 1st 2nd OTs Total AND THE BEAT GOES ON Canisius 30 22 1 53 • So far two of the Canisius stalwarts on offense,Jourdan Roemer and Jen Reininger, have Opponent 35 45 1 81 produced all season long. • When you take a closer look however the two players have shown a uncanny consistency to their offensive games. • Both players are on point streaks that span over 20 games. • Reininger, who joined the Blue and Gold last season, hasn’t had a game during her 26-game career with the Griffs, where she hasn’t tallied at least one point. • Reininger has registered 74 points through the 26 games, averaging 2.8 points per contest. • She currently leads the team in goal scoring with 16. • Reininger is also ranked fourth in the country in ground balls per game with a mark of 4.50. • Roemer also has an impressive point streak going, as she has tallied 35 games with at least one point, dating back to March 25, 2016. • In that time Roemer has amassed 72 goals, 56 assists for 128 points, averaging 3.8 points per contest. CANISIUS (2-4, 0-0 MAAC) vs. BRYANT (2-2, 0-0 NEC) ® Allison Daley Head Coach • 1st Season 2-4 Overall/0-0 MAAC Daley returns to Main Street after serving as an assistant coach at Binghamton University from 2013-16. She spent the 2017 season working with Delaware, before returning to Binghamton in the offseason.

At Binghamton, Daley mentored 11 all-conference honorees and also had a major role in leading the Bearcats to the program’s lowest goals against average in 2016. Additionally, Binghamton midfielder Rebecca Golderman, one of Daley’s recruits, became the program’s first-ever America East Rookie of the Year.

In her stint at Delaware, the former Canisius goaltender coached the Blue Hens to nine victories and a berth in the 2017 CAA semifinals. Delaware finished the 2017 season ranked seventh nationally in goals against average.

Prior to joining the coaching staff at Binghamton, Daley was Canisius’ assistant coach and recruiting coordinator under Teeter.

She helped build a Griffs program that won back-to-back MAAC titles and advanced to the NCAA tournament in each of her two seasons. Daley recruited and coached the 2012 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year and coached seven all-conference honorees.

As a player Daley, was an elite goaltender and team captain who enjoyed a decorated playing career. She was a member of Canada’s U19 National Team before embarking on a successful four-year undergraduate career on Main Street.

She was the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2010 and earned MAAC Tournament MVP honors after leading the Griffs to their first conference title in 2011.

Daley was a three-time All-MAAC selection and became the program’s first IWLCA all-region pick following her senior season with the program. The Blue and Gold alumna twice earned all-tournament team honors, and graduated holding school records for career saves (662) and goals against average (11.66).

Daley received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Canisius in 2011 and went on to receive her master’s degree in sport administration in 2013.

Caitlan Formato Caroline Michalak Assistant Coach Director of Operations Formato, a Lancaster, N.Y. native, returns home for the 2018 season, after serving as women’s lacrosse Michalak will serve as the teams director of head coach at Edinboro University for the past two operations beginning in 2018. Formato also was the director of the Lacrosse United summer camp in Lancaster in 2012 and 2013, as well as coach of the Lady Monsters travel team.

An accomplished athlete at George Mason, Formato was a three-year starter and the team captain her junior and senior seasons. Over her career, she scored 65 goals with 19 assists for 84 points while appearing in 67 career matches, with 51 starts. A midfielder, she finished as the third-leading scorer with 18 goals and five assists for 23 points as a senior in 2013. She added 25 draw controls, 16 ground balls, and 11 caused turnovers while playing in 15 matches, with 14 starts.

Formato earned her bachelor’s degree in Management from George Mason in 2013, with a minor in Tourism.
