    Question for written answer E-007024/2020 to the Commission Rule 138 Nicola Procaccini (ECR), Raffaele Fitto (ECR), Carlo Fidanza (ECR), Raffaele Stancanelli (ECR), Pietro Fiocchi (ECR), Sergio Berlato (ECR) Subject: WHO report on the management of the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy According to reconstructions by authoritative media sources, on 13 May 2020 a team of researchers from the World Health Organisation (WHO) published a report with the aim of warning countries not yet affected by the COVID-19 epidemic about possible mistakes in managing the emergency, based on the experience acquired by Italy, the first European country to be stricken by the virus. According to those same sources, that document was immediately withdrawn at the request of the organisation's Assistant-Director General. The main point of the report in question was the failure to implement Italy’s pandemic plan. The fact that this plan was supposed to have been updated on the initiative of the current WHO Assistant- Director General, under his previous role as director of the Italian Ministry of Health, suggests there may be a possible conflict of interest. This situation is being exacerbated by the probable involvement of the current Italian Minister for Health, who is said to feel 'bitter’ about the content of a report 'that would have put the country's government in a bad light'. Given that the publication of the WHO document, which was subsequently withdrawn, would have helped to save lives, not least in EU Member States, does the Commission intend to consult the WHO and the Italian Government with a view to clarifying this matter?     THE NEW EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT KEY COMMITTEE COMPOSITION 31 JULY 2019 INTRODUCTION After several marathon sessions, the European Council agreed on the line-up for the EU “top jobs” on 2 July 2019. The deal, which notably saw German Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen (CDU, EPP) surprisingly designated as the next European Commission (EC) President, meant that the European Parliament (EP) could proceed with the election of its own leadership on 3 July. The EPP and Renew Europe (formerly ALDE) groups, in line with the agreement, did not present candidates for the EP President. As such, the vote pitted the S&D’s David-Maria Sassoli (IT) against two former Spitzenkandidaten – Ska Keller (DE) of the Greens and Jan Zahradil (CZ) of the ACRE/ECR, alongside placeholder candidate Sira Rego (ES) of GUE. Sassoli was elected President for the first half of the 2019 – 2024 mandate, while the EPP (presumably EPP Spitzenkandidat Manfred Weber) would take the reins from January 2022. The vote was largely seen as a formality and a demonstration of the three largest Groups’ capacity to govern. However, Zahradil received almost 100 votes (more than the total votes of the ECR group), and Keller received almost twice as many votes as there are Greens/EFA MEPs. This forced a second round in which Sassoli was narrowly elected with just 11 more than the necessary simple majority. Close to 12% of MEPs did not cast a ballot. MEPs also elected 14 Vice-Presidents (VPs): Mairead McGuinness (EPP, IE), Pedro Silva Pereira (S&D, PT), Rainer Wieland (EPP, DE), Katarina Barley (S&D, DE), Othmar Karas (EPP, AT), Ewa Kopacz (EPP, PL), Klara Dobrev (S&D, HU), Dita Charanzová (RE, CZ), Nicola Beer (RE, DE), Lívia Járóka (EPP, HU) and Heidi Hautala (Greens/EFA, FI) were elected in the first ballot, while Marcel Kolaja (Greens/EFA, CZ), Dimitrios Papadimoulis (GUE/NGL, EL) and Fabio Massimo Castaldo (NI, IT) needed the second round.

Questa data ricorda il giorno del 1950 in cui vi fu la presentazione da parte di Robert Schuman del piano di cooperazione economica, ideato da Jean Monnet ed esposto nella Dichiarazione Schuman, che segna l'inizio del processo d'integrazione europea con l'obiettivo di una futura unione federale. Bilancio elabora il bilancio dell’Unione europea, insieme al Consiglio; approva il bilancio di lungo periodo dell’UE, il "quadro finanziario pluriennale". Composizione Il numero di eurodeputati per ogni paese è approssimativamente proporzionale alla popolazione di ciascuno di essi, secondo i criteri della proporzionalità degressiva: un paese non può avere meno di 6 o più di 96 eurodeputati e il numero totale non può superare i 751 (750 più il presidente). I gruppi parlamentari sono organizzati in base allo schieramento politico, non in base alla nazionalità. Il presidente rappresenta il Parlamento europeo nei confronti delle altre istituzioni dell'UE e del mondo esterno e dà l'approvazione finale al bilancio dell'UE. Come funziona il Parlamento europeo? Radiopharmaceuticals are drugs that are used for imaging diagnosis and therapy. Radiopharmaceuticals are crucial to provide CT scans for COVID-19 patients (SPECT/CT and PET/CT imaging) as well as for fragile patient populations, such as cancer and cardiac patients. Due to the radioactive part the shelf life is extremely limited and measured in hours and days. Whereas most regular drugs have shelf lives of months or years and can be produced in mass quantities, radiopharmaceuticals are produced in much smaller quantities and have to be produced for delivery just in time. This is often the day after production, and they are given to a patient usually on that day. In case of a imaging procedure, the scan also takes place the same day. This means that in the EU countries in over 90% of cases the time between the patient dose being ordered, produced, shipped and the actual diagnostic or therapeutic test is 24 hours. Furthermore, these short timeframes are extremely important since a radiopharmaceutical that cannot be used on the day of delivery and preparation in the hospital must be discarded. These days, the number of controls at the borders have seriously increased (potentially causing delays) and the administrative demands are sometimes hard to follow and fulfil.

Nella missiva, indirizzata ai Commissari all’Agricoltura Janusz Wojciechowski, al Mercato interno Thierry Breton e ai Trasporti Adina Vălean, gli eurodeputati di FdI Il Vostro Giornale - 1 / 2 - 25.09.2021 2 chiedono “misure urgenti e straordinarie, senza le quali molte aziende saranno costrette a sospendere le loro attività nel prossimo futuro, con danni ben più gravi del mancato guadagno e delle vendite. Un danno che si ripercuoterà non solo questa filiera ma anche sull’intero comparto alimentare”. Lo annunciano in una nota gli eurodeputati di Fratelli d’Italia Carlo Fidanza, Raffaele Fitto, Sergio Berlato, Pietro Fiocchi, Nicola Procaccini e Raffaele Stancanelli. “In particolare chiediamo l’istituzione di un fondo dedicato alla compensazione delle perdite delle aziende florovivaistiche, il sostegno alla vendita di piante e fiori all’interno dei canali distributivi ancora in essere a partire dalla grande distribuzione, l’eliminazione delle restrizioni alla circolazione delle merci e alle forniture delle aziende nel settore della floricoltura, sia a livello nazionale che europeo, garantendo con ulteriori misure che i prodotti della floricoltura siano inclusi nelle stesse disposizioni speciali insieme ai prodotti alimentari (cd. green line), nonché la predisposizione di campagne di promozione e comunicazione per facilitare una rapida ripresa di tutte le attività commerciali al termine dell’emergenza sanitaria”.
