Noctuidae (Insecto, Lepidoptera) by Vasily V. A n ik in , Sergey A. Sachkov , Va d im V. Z o lo t u h in & A n drey V. Sv ir id o v received 24.II.2000 Summary: 630 species of the Noctuidae are listed for the modern Volgo-Ural fauna. 2 species [Mesapamea hedeni Graeser and Amphidrina amurensis Staudinger ) are noted from Europe for the first time and one more— Nycteola siculana Fuchs —from Russia. 3 species ( Catocala optata Godart , Helicoverpa obsoleta Fabricius , Pseudohadena minuta Pungeler ) are deleted from the list. Supposedly they were either erroneously determinated or incorrect noted from the region under consideration since Eversmann 's work. 289 species are recorded from the re gion in addition to Eversmann 's list. This paper is the fifth in a series of publications1 dealing with the composition of the pres ent-day fauna of noctuid-moths in the Middle Volga and the south-western Cisurals. This re gion comprises the administrative divisions of the Astrakhan, Volgograd, Saratov, Samara, Uljanovsk, Orenburg, Uralsk and Atyraus (= Gurjev) Districts, together with Tataria and Bash kiria. As was accepted in the first part of this series, only material reliably labelled, and cover ing the last 20 years was used for this study. The main collections are those of the authors: V. E-mail: [email protected] [Kulfan, M. 2012. Structure of lepidopterocenoses on oaks Quercus dalechampii and Q. cerris in Central Europe and estimation of the most important species. Munis Entomology & Zoology, 7 (2): 732-741] ABSTRACT: On the basis of lepidopterous larvae a total of 96 species on Quercus dalechampii and 58 species on Q. cerris were recorded in 10 study plots of Malé Karpaty and Trnavská pahorkatina hills. The families Geometridae, Noctuidae and Tortricidae encompassed the highest number of found species. The most recorded species belonged to the trophic group of generalists. On the basis of total abundance of lepidopterous larvae found on Q. dalechampii from all the study plots the most abundant species was evidently Operophtera brumata. The most abundant species on Q. cerris was Cyclophora ruficiliaria. Based on estimated oak leaf area consumed by a larva it is shown that Lymantria dispar was the most important leaf-chewing species of both Q. dalechampii and Q. cerris. KEY WORDS: Slovakia, Quercus dalechampii, Q. cerris, the most important species. About 300 Lepidoptera species are known to damage the assimilation tissue of oaks in Central Europe (Patočka, 1954, 1980; Patočka et al.1999; Reiprich, 2001). Lepidoptera larvae are shown to be the most important group of oak defoliators (Patočka et al., 1962, 1999).

Three new species, Hydredes yakobsoni sp. n., H. shchetkini sp. n. and Protarchanara mythimnoida sp. n. are described from Central Asia. Two species, Arenostola delattini Wiltshire, 1953 and Hydraecia praecipua Hacker & Nekrasov, 2001 are transferred to the genus Hydredes gen. n. Protarchanara brevilinea impudica (Staudinger, 1892) stat. n. is upgraded to subspecific level. Lectotypes for Namangana contumax Püngeler, 1902, Sidemia (Luperina) johni Püngeler, 1914 and Nonagria impudica Staudinger, 1892 are designated. The adults and male and female genitalia are il- lustrated.

  • Errata and First Update to the 2010 Checklist of the Lepidoptera Of
Errata and first uppppdate to the 2010 checklist of the Lepidoptera of Alberta Gregory R. Pohl, Jason J Dombroskie, Jean‐François Landry, Charles D Bird, and Vazrick Nazari lead author contact: [email protected] Introduction: Since the Annotated list of the Lepidoptera of Alberta was published in March 2010 (Pohl et al. 2010), a few typographical and nomenclatural errors have come to the authors' attention, as well as three erroneous AB records that were inadvertently omitted from that publication. Additionally, a considerable number of new AB species records have been brought to our attention since that checklist went to press. As expected, most are microlepidoptera. We detail all these items below, in what we hope will be a regular series of addenda to the AB list. If you are aware of further errors or additions to the AB Lepidoptera list, please contact the authors. Wit hin the NidNoctuoidea, there are a few minor iiiinconsistencies in the order of species wihiithin genera, and in the order of genera within tribes or subtribes, as compared to the sequence published by Lafontaine & Schmidt (2010). As well, the sequence of tribes in the AB list does not exactly match that of Lafontaine & Schmidt (2010), particularly in the Erebinae. We are not detailing those minor differences here unless they involve a move to a new genus or new higher taxonomic category. Errata: Abstract, p. 2, line 10, should read "1530... annotations are given" 41 Nemapogon granella (p. 55). Add Kearfott (1905) to the AB literature records. 78 Caloptilia syringella (p. 60). This species should be placed in the genus Gracillaria as per De Prins & De Prins (2005).

Hungary ÁBRAHÁM L., HERCZIG B. & BÜRGÉS GY.: Contribution to the knowledge of the butterfly and moth (Macrolepidoptera) fauna of the Keszthelyi Mountains (Hungary). Abstract: Faunistic data and characterization of some rare species of the Keszthelyi Mountains are published. Faunistic surveys were carried out in three different periods; the first period took from the early twentieth cen- tury till 1968. At the beginning, only scattered faunistic samples, later (between 1952 and1967) data from light trap network of plant- and forest protection network were known. In the second period (between 1979 and 1984) an intensive faunistic investigation was carried out by light trapping and lighting in the southern part of the Keszthelyi Mountains. Finally, in the third period (between 2001 and 2004) the different nature conserva- tion areas were sampled in the southern and northern parts of the mountains. From the Keszthelyi Mountains, altogether 896 species of butterflies and moths are known based on 6596 faunistic data. The number of the pro- tected species is 72 . Keywords: Lepidoptera, faunistical survey, Hungary Bevezetés A Keszthelyi-hegység a Bakonyvidék középtáj legnyugatabbra fekvõ kistájcsoportja.
