Drive a Taxi, TAXI TALES Make Money SOPRANO SIGHTING Several years ago, before gentrification took hold of the area, I Style Management Co. pulled into the Mobil gas station at 14th street and 10th Avenue, back when it was still open and not a construction site. It was one of the larger stations in Manhattan. Another car was ready to pull away from the first pump of two after getting gas, so I waited a few seconds before moving forward. After I moved to the first pump, a white SUV moved frantically behind me, DRIVERS WANTED screeching its tires, pulling up to the second pump. I looked in my rearview to see what was happening and was a bit perplexed, to say the least. I saw a familiar face staring intensely at me. It was James Gan - dolfini, who played Tony Soprano. There had been no contract taken out on me to the best of my knowl - edge… If seeing an unhappy Tony Soprano in my rearview wasn’t enough to get my attention, he then swiftly pulled out from behind me and went to the other side of the pumps for some reason. I thought maybe there was something wrong with that pump behind me. I got out to pump gas and perhaps say “hi” to Gandolfini, intending to add that I’m a big fan of the show. Before I could do that, he quickly drove away without getting any gas, which seemed awfully strange. After paying for my gas with a credit card, I exited the station and proceeded up 10th avenue. I happened to look to my right and spotted Part time or full time shifts available Mr. Gandolfini on the other side of the station exiting his car while hold - ing his young son’s hand, most likely going to a rest room.
