Gaztenpresa Fundazioa –Laboral Kutxa Social Commitment Programme
EMN Good Practices – Gaztenpresa Fundazioa - 2016 Gaztenpresa Fundazioa –Laboral Kutxa Social Commitment Programme Category of Good Practice: Partnership between public, private and social sectors Good Practice’s title Intra-entrepreneurship and win-win alliance models as part of long-lasting public, private and social partnerships Main objective Gaztenpresa arose as an initiative as a result of some of the workers, who are also partners of Laboral Kutxa. They identified the need to support youth employment in their spheres of actions, and for this reason decided to embark on this project. They sought out alliances to optimise the existing resources on hand at the participating organisations in favour of society as a whole (creation of stable employment through self-employment programmes), through long-lasting relationships. Gaztenpresa put into service a programme dealing with people who needed assistance to improve their life projects through self-employment schemes (via customised accompaniment to assess their ideas, design a business plan, provide access to financing and consolidate the project through a mentoring service). The Gaztenpresa Foundation coordinates the alliance between Laboral Kutxa (cooperative regional bank), Lanbide (Basque Regional Government. Dpt. of Employment and Social Policies) and Bultz-Lan Consulting (whose property is 95% of Cáritas Bizkaia and 5% of Laboral Kutxa). Key words: MFI, partnership, banks, equity, sharing facilities, microcredit. Book Provides Us with the Compelling Evidence That This Is Not Only Necessary but Also Possible.” - Prabir Purkayastha, Founder and Chief Editor At
“An incredibly important and timely collection of essays, offering a detailed diagnosis of the issues afflicting modern financialized economies and a vision of a future beyond neoliberalism. Required reading for all those involved in the project to build a new economy.” - Grace Blakeley, research fellow at the Institute for Public Policy Research and economics commentator at The New Statesman “This thought-provoking series of essays reminds us of a truth often denied: there is no shortage of money for transformation of the economy away from addiction to fossil fuels. The questions tackled by the authors are this: who controls the monetary system and how can the wider public regain control over a) their own savings and b) a great public good - the monetary system.” - Ann Pettifor, director of Policy Research in Macroeconomics (PRIME) and author of The Production of Money “The dominant narrative today is that financial and private capital, will lead – at some distant date – to public good. Increasingly, even public infra- structure is being handed over to big capital. We urgently need a global movement to rein in global finance and safeguard our future. This impor- tant book provides us with the compelling evidence that this is not only necessary but also possible.” - Prabir Purkayastha, founder and chief editor at www.newsclick.in “Here is yet another major contribution from TNI to our understanding of the complex world of high-finance. TNI has gained an international reputation for its extraordinary work on helping us understand the real world machinations of the high-level investment world of financiers.” - Saskia Sassen, Columbia University and author of Expulsions: Brutality and Complexity in the Global Economy “The stark reality is that the world stands on the brink of another crash owing to the failure to reform a global financial system dominated by private banking behemoths. -

Ángel Torres-Toukoumidis Universidad de Huelva. España [email protected] orcid.org/0000-0002-7727-3985 Dra . Pilar Marín-Mateos Universidad de Huelva. España [email protected] orcid.org/0000-0003-3474-908x Abstract This study is based on identifying the incorporation of game elements in mobile applications of the Spanish financial sector, specifically a sample of 38 applications belonging to mobile banking, which come from the AppStore stores operating system iOS and Google Play operating system Android, excluding all those that do not belong to a banking entity such as PayPal, FinTonic, Mapfre, Plus500, Trading 212 Forex & Stocks, Carrefour Mobile Pass, and the taxonomy of game elements from Raftopoulos, Walz and Greuter (2015) organized in purpose, audience, technological strategy, play experience and game mechanics. The results demonstrate that the purposes of such applications are to foster customer loyalty by presenting operational solutions and portfolio synchronizations. The audience is oriented to an age profile between 26 and 35 years, while the technology strategy responds primarily to the adoption of security and privacy systems. In addition, the ludic experience is gradually adopted by the mobile communication of banking entities, espe- cially in socialization, personalized configuration of the central panel. Finally, the mechanics most used are the collection of rewards and application of mechanics of progression. -

7 July 2010 CEBS's STATEMENT on KEY FEATURES of THE
7 July 2010 CEBS’S STATEMENT ON KEY FEATURES OF THE EXTENDED EU-WIDE STRESS TEST Following its statement issued on 18 June 2010, CEBS provides further information on the EU-wide stress test exercise which is now being finalised by CEBS and the national supervisory authorities, in close cooperation with the ECB. The objective of the extended stress test exercise is to assess the overall resilience of the EU banking sector and the banks’ ability to absorb further possible shocks on credit and market risks, including sovereign risks, and to assess the current dependence on public support measures. The exercise is being conducted on a bank-by-bank basis using commonly agreed macro-economic scenarios (baseline and adverse) for 2010 and 2011, developed in close cooperation with the ECB and the European Commission. The macro-economic scenarios include a set of key macro-economic variables (e.g. the evolution of GDP, of unemployment and of the consumer price index), differentiated for EU Member States, the rest of the EEA countries and the US. The exercise also envisages adverse conditions in financial markets and a shock on interest rates to capture an increase in risk premia linked to a deterioration in the EU government bond markets. On aggregate, the adverse scenario assumes a 3 percentage point deviation of GDP for the EU compared to the European Commission’s forecasts over the two- year time horizon. The sovereign risk shock in the EU represents a deterioration of market conditions as compared to the situation observed in early May 2010. The scope of the stress testing exercise has been extended to include not only the major EU cross-border banking groups but also key domestic credit institutions in Europe. -
