There are hundreds of schools to choose from across the UK, all with different strengths and features. We know the schools well and can give you impartial and informed advice based on our experience and knowledge. Let us take the strain out of your school placement and we will help to make sure you choose the right school and the right course. then choose us as guardians you can trust If a child is under 18 or if he or she is studying at a boarding school and their parents are not living in the UK, then a school will ask for a UK guardian to be nominated. The guardian cares for the child during those times when the school closes and at times when they are travelling around the UK such as to and from airports. Bright World Guardianships has been established since 2000 and is a fully accredited (AEGIS) registered guardianship organisation. With our fantastic team of Head Office staff, caring drivers, warm and welcoming host families and team of Bright World Buddies (Local Coordinators across the UK), students are assured of a warm welcome and a friendly face and people they can trust to take care of them during the year. Parents and our overseas education agents, on the other hand, are in regular touch with us which gives them peace of mind in the knowledge that they have a reliable representative in the UK. work with experienced professionals who understand Choosing the right school for a child is very difficult for a parent, especially when they live overseas. There are hundreds of schools available all with different characteristics. A parent is offering their son or daughter the opportunity of a lifetime to come and study in a UK boarding school so it is vital that they choose the right school and course for them. Sheena and Sian in our Schools Placement Department can help you to make the right selection of school. They know the schools and have acquired the skills over the years of matching students with the right school and on the right academic pathway. ‘We are proud to offer a well considered, quick and efficient service. Our aim is to find the right school for you and to help you throughout the process from initial consultation to arrival at school.’ Lana Foster, Managing Director Our Guardianship service is very well known amongst British Boarding Schools, parents and education agents. The secret of our success is our experienced Head Office staff, our wonderful team of Local Coordinators who visit our students, the high quality of our host families who host students during short holidays and our reliable and trustworthy drivers who get students to and from airports safely. With all of us working together as a team we are often told we offer the best service around. ‘Our first priority with guardianship is the safety of the children in our care. We really do make a difference to their school life by offering them support and understanding. We also make sure they enjoy their short holidays with our host families who are genuinely nice people who take good care of them. ’ Fiona Walters, Senior Programme Manager meet our schools placements team left to right: Sian Maidment, Sheena Trist, James Foster & Lana Foster a great choice of Bedfordshire Bedford School boarding schools Bedford School Study Centre On these pages you will see a list of some of the schools we work with where we can also offer guardianship. • 180109 Schools Statement
Statement by West Sussex MPs West Sussex MPs lobbied hard for the introduction of a National Funding Formula, and the extra £28 million for West Sussex schools has gone a considerable way towards making funding fairer. Our secondary schools will receive up to 12 per cent more funding when the Formula is fully implemented. We recognise that there is further to go, and that schools are facing cost pressures, and we are particularly concerned about the funding of primary schools once transitional help has passed, the sustainability of small rural primary schools and the challenges for schools in less well-off urban areas. We have been in constant discussions with our local schools and West Sussex County Council about these issues. Our schools should be funded on the same basis as those in their peer group across England, although we must be wary of crude comparisons since everyone is agreed that schools in very deprived inner city areas will always have additional needs. This issue remains a high priority for West Sussex MPs, and we will continue to stand up strongly for our local schools, including through representations to the new Education Secretary and the Chancellor. However, this is not just about funding. We are also very concerned about standards which in too many West Sussex schools have not been good enough, and we want to hear more about how improvements will be made. Notes 1. Overall impact of NFF on West Sussex The National Funding Formula delivers on full implementation (on the basis of current pupil numbers) an additional £28 million to West Sussex.

The property is arranged over two floors with the principal access to the ground floor being on the eastern side of the property. In practice, an entrance on the south side into a boot room then into the kitchen beyond tends to be used on a more regular basis (an alternative entrance is located on the northern side of the house providing direct access from the driveway). The traditional family kitchen features a gas and electric fired range cooker and leads to a utility room located to the rear of the house. The remainder of the ground floor features two charming reception rooms in the form of a dining room and a sitting room with inglenook fireplace housing a log burner. There is a large storage area, cellar and walk in larder. To the first floor are four double bedrooms, a family bathroom and separate WC. Of particular note are the two bedrooms to the rear of the property which both enjoy enchanting views over the garden and the South Downs.
