About the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community true Islam Ahmadi Muslims believe that Islam is a universal religion of peace, with a simple but perfect message to develop and maintain a living relationship with a living God and to fulfl the rights of God’s creations, including all mankind, irrespective of their religious or faith choices. Our Founder The message of true Islam was revived by our founder, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (peace be upon him) who established the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in 1889. Ahmadi Muslims accept him as the Promised Messiah and Mahdi who was prophesied for this age and is awaited by all Abrahamic faiths. As laid out in the Holy Qur’an and from the practise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) underlined the need to recognise our Creator, to respect all religions, to abide by the law of the land and to be loyal to the government of the country in which we live. Our Leadership The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is led by a system of Khilafat (Caliphate) which means spiritual leadership. The Khalifa is a successor to the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him). The present Caliph, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (may Allah be his Helper) is the Community’s ffth Khalifa. He leads this global community and inspires it to serve humanity with the spirit of kindness and humility that is integral to Islam. His Holiness encourages the development and progress of women, at a time when it is often alleged that Islam does not grant equality between genders. His Holiness has spoken of how Islam has established the true freedom of women and enshrined their rights. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association The Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association, also known as Lajna Ima’illah, is a women’s auxiliary organisation of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. It was established in 1922 by the second successor to the Promised Messiah (peace be on him) His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmad (may Allah be pleased with him) as an empowered women’s organisation whose main goal was to promote religious and secular education amongst women and to support those lacking in these areas and help them in the spirit of sisterhood. The aims of Lajna Ima’illah include the enhancement of knowledge, the service of humanity, the upbringing of children to make them useful members of society, promoting unity, helping the poor and striving hard to overcome diffculties with fortitude and bravery. It is also to raise awareness amongst women of their important status according to the teachings of Islam and their great responsibility within the religious organisation. Through their actions and initiatives Lajna strive to reach out to communities and spread the true peaceful message of Islam, highlighting the rights, status, freedoms and liberty that Islam has bestowed upon Muslim women. @LajnaUK [email protected] www.mta.tv(SKY708) www.LoveForAllHatredForNone.org www.lajna.org.uk.
