Babies Go Vintage with Aunty Ollie's New Baby Wear Range Babies go vintage with Aunty Ollie’s new baby wear range Submitted by: Peekaboo Communications Tuesday, 2 February 2010 2 February 2010 – Baby wear gets a vintage make-over this spring/summer with a delightful new range from Aunty Ollie (http://www.auntyollie.com). From floppy hats to retro romper suits, the range is utterly different to what’s available on the high street. This is the young company’s first foray into baby wear, building on the success of its children’s wear range that launched last year. Like the rest of the Aunty Ollie range, the emphasis is on bold, colourful prints with roomy cuts to provide plenty of freedom to move. Baby girls will look positively edible in the cherries, cupcakes, apples or sundaes prints, while baby boys will cut a dash in spots, stripes, nautical motifs and retro transport themes. The range includes: Angel Tie Romper: Vintage-pretty romper suit with shoulder ties for extra cuteness, press stud crotch - £20 Tearaway Romper: Contrast print romper with press stud crotch. For seriously funky little people - £20 each Park Days Dress & Pant set: Beautifully cut shift dress lets the print do the talking. Straps adjustable with press studs. Contrast straps, piping and pants - £25 Flounce Dress & Pant set: Frill dress with tie straps. Contrast panels and frill leg pants - £28 Sunny Days Hat: Wide brimmed sun hat. Adjusts with external tie. Chin straps to stop them pulling their lovely hats off! - £12 Little Mess Bib: Cotton bibs with contrast piping for when you need to look good despite being covered in food! Ties at neck. Double sided cotton or single sided wipe clean cotton laminate. £6 Big Mess Bib: Smock style bibs for bigger kids who like to make a mess! Press stud at neck, flap at bottom - £9 Tumble Shorts: Cute little shorts for everyday wear with a little vest or T. Elasticated waist, short leg length - £9 Incognito Pants: Elasticated pants to cover nappies for those lazy hot days. Team with a little vest or T, or go bare chested. Elasticated waist and legs. £7 Gift sets are also available. The clothes come in sizes 0-3m, 3 – 6m, 6 – 12m, 12 – 18m, 18 – 24m. The range is available from http://www.auntyollie.com. Jodie and her British husband Robert adopted three children from Sierra Leone between mid- 2007 and early 2008 – aged from 3 to 13 years old. Her children were the inspiration for Aunty Ollie. The original children’s wear range featuring colourful prints was launched online in May 2009 and sold out almost overnight after being featured in a British national newspaper. Since then, the company has introduced a winter 2009 range, a range of aprons for mums and children, the new baby wear range and a new Spring/Summer 2010 range for children will be out soon. Spring/Summer 2017 Tutti i bambini hanno cuori dolci come il miele, falli crescere con cura e affetto... e ti accorgerai che sono fatti per amare. All kids have hearts as sweet as honey; grow them with care and affection...and you realize they were born to give love. L’espressione più vera dell’amore è il sorriso di un bambino felice. The truliest demonstration of love is the smile of a happy child. D’estate il bambino pensa a giocare, sognando castelli di sabbia e l’azzurro del mare. During summer the child always thin- ks about playing, dreaming of sandca- stles and blue sea. Nanan è un mondo d’incanto. Perdercisi è una favola. Nanan is an enchanted world. Getting lost in it is like a fairy tale. I bambini devono poter credere nella magia, il vero motore della vita. Children must be fond of magic, the real driving force in life. • Exploring the Mind of Alexander Mcqueen
Exploring the Mind of Alexander McQueen By Luz Vargas Thesis Submitted in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for a Degree in Writing Journalism 5/7/13 Thesis Advisor: Prof. Vastola 1 Abstract My thesis project is a journalism profile on the late British fashion designer Alexander McQueen. The project describes how I was introduced into McQueen‟s work, followed by a biography on the designer. A number of McQueen‟s popular collections will also be described and shown with pictures, as well as, discussing the meanings behind them. The ending will then include my experience of attending McQueen‟s exhibit in 2011. 2 Table of Contents Introduction 4 Who is Alexander McQueen? 5 History in McQueen’s collection 10 McQueen’s Artistic Vision 16 The Last Collections 25 My Experience of Savage Beauty 32 Work Cited 37 3 Introduction Doing my research on British designer Alexander McQueen was a non-stop journey. As people dream of a world beyond their existence, McQueen made his dreams a reality through his collections of work. One designer who McQueen worked with and admired was Japanese designer Koji Tatsuno. Tatsuno‟s thoughts on the designer were, “I guess I did influence his work, particularly in making fabrics three- dimensional, but also in not accepting the limitations of conventional „fashion.‟” My discovery on McQueen started when I attended his 2011 memorial exhibit called “Savage Beauty” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The person who encouraged me to go to the exhibit was my cousin, Richard Monroy. Monroy, a freshman in Parsons The New School for Design in New York, had this to say about McQueen: “Time and time again, I always hear other students list Alexander McQueen as one of their favorite designers.

ABSTRACT An English Translation of La sonrisa etrusca: The Etruscan Smile Peter Ferretter Director: Moisés Park, Ph.D. La sonrisa etrusca is José Luis Sampedro’s seventh novel and most successful work. This 1985 bestseller is listed in El Mundo’s 100 best Spanish novels of the 20th century, and in 2018 received a film adaptation. These two achievements alone make it a worthy book to translate, and currently it is available in French, German, Dutch, Italian, Lithuanian, Romanian, Arabic, Hebrew, and Chinese. Currently however, there is no English translation. To address this omission, this thesis presents the first thirty chapters of the novel in English.
