Perth2011.Com the Dream Begins in Perth! THE DREAM BEGINS IN PERTH! PERTH2011.COM PERTH 2011 ISAF SAILING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS NOTICE OF RACE 2. ADVERTISING AND BOW NUMBERS 2.1 Boats may be required to display bow numbers and advertising Organising Authority (OA): chosen and supplied by the OA. The forms are available for download on the event website Men's Windsurfer RS:X-M 120 www.Perth2011.com and shall be submitted at registration. Women's Windsurfer RS:X-W 80 3.6 For the Women's Match Racing event, the crew (including the skipper) shall total three with a maximum total crew weight of 204 kg when wearing at least shorts and shirt. Men's One Person Dinghy Laser 150 3.7 Except in an emergency, the ‘person in charge’ (see RRS 46) shall Women's One Person Laser Radial 120 helm the boat at all times while racing. Women's Two Person 470-W 80 Dinghy (b) For all multi-crewed classes, substitution of crew members is not permitted except in case of proven accident or illness. Men's Skiff 49er 100 3.10 The regatta is open to boats competing in events chosen for the Men's Keelboat Star 80 2012 Olympic Sailing Competition. Women's Match Racing Elliott 6m 32 (see NoR 3.12.1) NoR Posted on 7 January 2011 3 PERTH 2011 ISAF SAILING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 3.11 The Qualification System for fleet racing is published on the ISAF 3.11.10 MNAs with more than one individual listed in the top 150 of the website. Refer to NoR 3.13 for application for priorities entries. ISAF World Rankings (30 June 2011) are eligible for additional entries. MNAs will be awarded an additional entry in order of the 2011 ISAF World Rankings (30 June 2011) for every individual in the top 150 of the ISAF World 3.11.1 Each MNA is entitled to one priority entry per event. FEES Qualification Events, shall be made to the ISAF Secretariat [email protected] between 1 January 2011 and 28 February 2011. All 4.1 Fees are stated in Australian $ and include any local taxes. The subject line should include "Application for Entries to Women's Windsurfer AUD 425 WA2011 by <MNA>". ISAF will confirm allocation of these entries in early July. Online registration, and payment of entry fees, for these entries is Men's One Person Dinghy AUD 425 required by 31 July 2011 otherwise the entry shall be forfeited. In the event of non-payment, ISAF will cancel the allocation of the entry and invite the next qualifier based on the allocation process. Women's One Person Dinghy AUD 425 3.15 The MNA-nominated contact shall complete an entry for each Men's One Person Dinghy Heavy AUD 425 athlete through the WA2011 online registration system available on the WA2011 website www.perth2011.com. All confirmed athletes will be issued with accreditation for the event.

The Elliott 6m is modern, faster than any previous women’s Olympic keel yacht and exciting to sail with at the 204 kg crew weight. The new boat has been welcomed by women sailors throughout the world. Coming from a variety of different sailing disciplines the athletes learned quickly that they needed to embrace the Olympic philosophy of human performance to sail Faster, Higher and Stronger in the event. And they have. The Elliott 6m has been used as supplied equipment for the ISAF Sailing World Cup since 2009. Competition quickly became intense as teams developed their skill and athleticism. Every leg of the Sailing World Cup events was won by a different team with Lucy MacGregor (GBR) eventually being crowned the winner. The event has flourished inside the Olympic programme and provides an effective platform for elite sailors and promotion of the sport between Olympics. It has provided a further pathway to retain champions and previous medal winners in an Olympic sailing event keeping these inspirational athletes in the sport. Sailors fight hard to win a place in the Gold Fleet at every SWC event. Teams from emerging sailing nations, such as China & Slovenia have entered the SWC rankings near the bottom and in 2011 are making it into the Silver fleet at these events.

Ett Västsverige. resultat av talangfulla och målmedvetna idrottare stöttade av fantastiska klubbar, VI HAR 65 000 segelbåtar i Sverige så visst skolor, föräldrar och ledare. Olympiska Spel har vi bredd, eller åtminstone potential för engagerar på olika sätt. För mig som barn en stor bredd. För jag vet ju inte riktigt hur var OS en stor händelse och ett av mina tidi- många som seglar i dessa båtar. Så vad alla vi gaste OS minnen är John Albrechtsson och i svensk segling skall fortsätta att göra är att en guldmedalj i Tempest 1976. Det var fröet hjälpas åt att så frön. Som skapar viljor att bli som ledde till seglarskola och ett livslångt OS seglare, lockar till att delta i seglarskolor, seglingsintresse.     MEMBERSHIP MATTERS 2011 ANNUAL REPORT Letter to our Goals Members Dear Member, 2011 was an exceptional year for US Sailing, and we would like to start by thanking you for your ongoing support and confidence in our organization. You enable us to deliver the programs that are important to our sport, and inspire us to continually strive to improve sailors’ experiences on the water. Last year we committed to focus on the future, challenge the status quo and support the 21st century sailor by enhancing our programs, modernizing our processes and expanding support for organizations. We’ve made progress. We increased the number of Certified Instructors and Race Officials, and completely revamped the Level 1 Instructor program and student materials. We developed new services and tools to support PHRF fleets. Following the successful Yacht Club Summit, we launched a series of local conferences, and are supporting regional yacht club summits. The US Sailing Road Show stopped at 50 clubs and sailing centers, inspiring over 17,000 young sailors. We further enhanced our Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) education program in preparation for a national rollout. We extended our commitment to safety with our investigations of last summer’s sailing tragedies. Promote Participation, Education, Raise Standards and Expand Clubs across the country are reviewing these reports and recommendations, and implementing new practices to Opportunity and Safety Competitive Sailing in the US reduce accidents in the future. “SSA is proud of its long history offering world class “Some say sailing is declining. Due to the resource-intensive nature of the sport, US sailors suffered from a lack of match race training facilities and were losing ground within the international rankings. To fill this void, Hardesty and Wilson founded the CMRC to conduct high-level training sessions as well as host one of the most aggressive match race regatta schedules worldwide. Within the sailing community, CMRC has quickly gained a reputation for sailing and regatta management excellence.

    Notice of Race Weymouth and Portland International Regatta 2011 31 July – 13 August 2011 Weymouth and Portland, United Kingdom Organising Authority: the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) in conjunction with the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) 1 Rules 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS). 1.2 For fleet racing, RRS Appendix P, Special Procedures for Rule 42, will apply. 1.3 For medal races, ISAF Addendum Q, Umpired Fleet Racing, available on the ISAF website (www.sailing.org), will apply, and changes a number of racing rules. The version that is current when the regatta begins will appear in full in the Sailing Instructions. 1.4 For the Women’s Match Racing event: 1.4.1 Rules for the Handling of Boats will apply, including practice racing, and will appear in full in the Sailing Instructions. The Elliott 6m Class rules will not apply. 1.4.2 RRS 40 is changed so that it applies at all times while racing, without the need for display of the Y flag. This changes RRS 40. 1.5 No National Authority prescriptions will apply. 2 Advertising and bow numbers 2.1 Boats may be required to display bow numbers and advertising chosen and supplied by the Organising Authority (OA). 2.2 Athletes may be required to wear bibs provided by the OA. 2.3 Boats shall display national flags on mainsails as specified in the Weymouth and Portland International Regatta 2011 Equipment Inspection Regulations. 3 Eligibility and entry 3.1 ISAF eligibility according to ISAF Regulation 19 is required of all athletes.
