Meanwhile Patrick McLoughlin will be gamely making the case for HS2 at a range of events – expect stand offs between infrastructure lobbyists and angry grassroots Tories. With fringes on faith groups, equality, people power and the voluntary sector – the slogan may be out of fashion but there is still a willingness to talk about the Big Society. We produced a ranking of the most popular political speakers at fringe events by recording the number of fringe events they’re expected to speak at. We also looked at the spread of topics each politician is covering. We reviewed each conference’s fringe programme and categorised each and every fringe event per topic. We produced a ranking of the most popular topics by recording the number of fringe events held per topic.
