Geert Magerman Chairman Technical Committee Bridge EUSA History of the European and World University Championships The idea to organise Championships for University Students originated at the University of Antwerpen, when Paul Magerman, then president of the European Community Bridge League, put together the first European Community Bridge Championship in 1993. Originally organised by the ECBL, then renamed EUBL, the EBL took over the championship in 1998. In 2000 it was decided to make the event global, and since then European and World Championships have alternated. The first events were organised with help from, but without official recognition of FISU, but in 2002 that recognition was given, and we witnessed the first World University Team Championship in Brugge. In 2007 we received the support of EUSA, the European Universities Sports Association. That also meant that the event became for Paul Magerman, who died four years University teams, no longer national ones. You will be working with size 11/0 Delica beads. I have given you the bead colour codes I used, down below. But please check each individual playing card for the quantities you need for that particular card. The finished size of each card is 2.75” (7cm) x 4” (10.5cm). I recommend you look for wholesale packs of these beads if you are planning to make multiple cards. You can also calculate the total number required for an entire pack of cards by adding together the quantity on each playing card. The introduction, on the next page, tells you how to assemble the cards and gives you some helpful advice for using this tutorial. This is suitable for anyone who enjoys working in Peyote stitch. If you need to learn even count Peyote, or want a little refresher, I recommend this free YouTube video https://youtu.be/VlY5CNYhOc4 . As long as you know the technique basics, it is very easy to follow the word charts I have provided. So, all you need is a little patience and some time to enjoy this! Design Note: because I chose the quickest, easiest Peyote variation (even count), I have had to take some liberties with the card designs. So, you will notice they are not perfectly symmetrical. I have calculated enough symmetry to make them look ‘right’, but you will notice the unevenness as you bead.

HISTORY OF MASOVIAN VOIVODESHIP THIS PRESENTATION IS ABOUT THE CONTEMPORARY ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT. FOR THE PRE-PARTITION ONE, SEE MASOVIAN VOIVODESHIP (1526–1795). WHEN THE PROVINCE WAS CREATED? The province was created on January 1, 1999, out of the former Warsaw, Płock, Ciechanów, Ostrołęka, Siedlce and Radom Voivodeships, pursuant to the Polish local government reforms adopted in 1998. The province's name recalls the traditional name of the region, Mazowsze , with which it is roughly coterminous. However, southern part of the voivodeship, with Radom, historically belongs to Lesser Poland, while Łomża and its surroundings, even though historically part of Mazovia, now is part of Podlaskie Voivodeship. • Asexual Romance in an Allosexual World: How Ace-Spectrum Characters (And Authors) Create Space for Romantic Love
Asexual Romance in an Allosexual World: How Ace-Spectrum Characters (and Authors) Create Space for Romantic Love By Ellen Carter Published online: August 2020 http://www.jprstudies.org Abstract: Recent years have seen a surge in contemporary romance novels with ace- spectrum main characters who, despite not experiencing sexual attraction, still yearn for romantic and emotional connection and their happily ever after (HEA). They must navigate as outsiders an allosexual (non-asexual) world where sexual attraction is deemed normal, and where ace-individuals are pitied, assumed to be unwell, or suspected of having survived sexual abuse. This corpus study of sixty-five novels explores four approaches adopted by ace characters when negotiating romantic space in an allosexual world: an open relationship with an allosexual; a closed relationship with an allosexual; a polyamorous relationship with two (or more) allosexuals; or pairing up with another ace-spectrum character. Except for ace-ace relationships, these novels therefore tread unfamiliar territory in romance fiction because the sexual desires of the main characters are not aligned. In allosexual romance novels, a libido mismatch signifies an underlying physical or emotional problem to be overcome by one or more characters. However, in asexual romance fiction, non-aligned libidos are the norm and the characters must work together to understand each other’s sexual and romantic desires, and to co-create a new space in which all can thrive. In analyzing how ace romance fiction achieves HEA and how this can inform the lenses through which allosexual romance fiction is read, I look at several factors, including the co- occurrence of other queer orientations and identities; the authors’ orientation, especially those who identify as #ownvoices; how characters with different sexual desires handle consent; and discourses of romance versus intimacy.

Project co-financed by the Minister of Economic Development Business and Local Government, Finance, Economy, Innovation BUSINESS AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT, FINANCE, ECONOMY, INNOVATIONS We are pleased to present to you a publication in which we describe the Pol- ish investment and export potential. In the first part, we present the regions that, according to the results of regional analyses, generate the highest percentage of domestic exports or show continuous development in this direction. The second part of the publication is dedicated to the presentation of Polish companies that are conquering the Polish export market and focusing largely on innovation in their business models. The voivodeships we present include, among others, the Masovian and Silesian regions, which generate almost a quarter of national exports. The value of the ex- port market in these regions as well as in Greater Poland exceeds EUR 20 billion. In recent years, other regions, such as Lower Silesian Voivodeship, have recorded the greatest increase in the value of exported goods. Zygmunt Berdychowski Chairman of the Economic Forum The synthetic summaries include a compendium of knowledge about the Programme Council voivodeships, thanks to which a potential investor or entrepreneur who wants to start or develop a business in Poland will find information about the location, net- work of connections, transport accessibility, level of urbanization, sectoral structure of enterprises, employment structure, percentages regarding projects with foreign capital. Of course, we also point out the innovation of a given voivodeship and smart specializations of the region. They include, among others, modern medicine, information technologies and energy. SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY PUBLISHING HOUSE SCIENTIFIC PAPERS OF SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY 2020 ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT SERIES NO. 145 1 DEVELOPMENT OF SELECTED CITIES FROM MASOVIAN 2 VOIVODESHIP IN THE ASPECT OF THE URBAN RESILIENCE 3 CONCEPT 4 Radosław KORNEĆ 5 Siedlce University of Natural Sciences and Humanities, Faculty of Social Science; [email protected], 6 ORCID: 0000-0002-5949-0089 7 Purpose: There are many concepts related to effective management of urban centres that have 8 been advanced recently. One is the concept of urban resilience. This allows determining the 9 level of vulnerability and recovery of city economy to occurring events and phenomenon based 10 on analysis of defined indicators. 11 Design/methodology/approach: The research problem taken up in this article, it concerns the 12 question of how an assessment of urban resilience can be done in an economic context with the 13 use of open-access statistical data. In Polish literature there are some studies concerning the 14 chosen topic, however, they do not relate to the particular subject of research. 15 Findings: The results are a certain confirmation of studies that were developed for other urban 16 centres. One common conclusion is that the main external disturbance that significantly 17 changed the selected values of the dynamics of resilience and vulnerability, as well as the line 18 of trajectory related to the development of the studied cities, was the financial crisis that was 19 observed during the years 2009-2012. This particularly affected Warsaw. 20 Originality/value: The urban resilience concept that was applied in the research is a relatively 21 new approached that is used in diagnosing transitions taking place in cities as a result of external 22 socio-economic conditions.
