So far, 32,616 people have recovered, 796 have died from the coronavirus in the country, while 228 others carrying the virus have died from other causes. Deckelbaum3 and Aelita Sargsyan1 Abstract Background: Despite global efforts, stunting remains a public health problem in several developing countries. The prevalence of stunting among 0- to 5-year-old children in Armenia has increased from 17% in 2000 to 19% in 2010. A baseline study was conducted among preschool children in Berd, a region near the northeastern border of Armenia that has experienced intermittent military tension for over 20 years. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study including 594 children aged 6-month- 6 years old and their caregivers in our analysis, to assess the prevalence and determinants of stunting. We calculated the anthropometric measurements and hemoglobin levels of children; analyzed children’s stool and conducted a survey with children’scaregivers.We employed the hierarchical logistic regression model to explore the predictors of stunting among 25–72 months old children and multivariable logistic regression models to investigate the predictors of stunting among 6–24 months old children. Individual and residence level variables were included in the models including anemia, minimum dietary diversity, mothers’ height, the overall duration of breastfeeding, birthweight, child’s history of diarrhea and mean socio-economic score. Results: The prevalence of stunting was significantly higher among the 6–24 months old children (13.3%) compared to the children aged 25–72 months old (7.8%).

Some of them, being skillful revolutionaries and professional combatants, joined the ranks of the Palestinian revolutionary organizations. As a reporter, I built close relations with Devrimci Sol (Revolutionary Left), Devrimci Yol (Revolutionary Path), Partizan Yol (Guerilla Path), Türkiye Komünist Partisi Lenincileri (Communist Party of Turkey – Leninists), THKP Acilciler and- TİKKO-Türkiye İşçi Köylü Komünist Partisi (Popular Party of Turkey and Workers and Peasants Communist Party of Turkey), P.K.K. (Kurdistan Work- ers' Party) and some other organizations, many members of which were con- verted, Kurdified and Turkified Armenians. Over three hundred first-graders from 20 schools in Berd, Tavush region, started their school year with a surprise: new, quality backpacks full of amazing school supplies that they will use for the entire year - and beyond. We embarked on our journey in early summer to raise funds to get the most necessary items for their first year of school. We’re so thrilled knowing that together, we supplied each first graders in Berd with the essential school supplies to enjoy a successful year. We are so thankful to all the amazing people, partners and organizations, who joined us on this journey to support the children of Berd. On the afternoon of 12 July, the armed forces of Azerbaijan, in violation of the ceasefire regime, performed an attempt to infiltrate into the Armenian positions in the direction of Tavush region of Armenia. These acts of hostility were accompanied by the use of artillery, targeting civilian populations and essential infrastructures. Against the backdrop of massive ceasefire violations, an Azerbaijani military unit sought to cross the border into the territory of Armenia and to seize an elevation, from which civilians of the nearby villages of Armenia could be easily targeted. Such overt aggression by Azerbaijan demonstrates a most irresponsible intention to expand the geography of hostilities beyond the line of contact and to involve different parts of the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border. While Armenia called for immediate de-escalation, taking suppressive measures to contain the level of violence, Azerbaijan continued shelling an Armenian town and villages within its reach, with the use of heavy weaponry, including artillery and tanks, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles and large infantry units. The town of Berd and the bordering villages were subjected to deliberate attack by unmanned combat aerial vehicles.

Deckelbaum3 and Aelita Sargsyan1 Abstract Background: Despite global efforts, stunting remains a public health problem in several developing countries. The prevalence of stunting among 0- to 5-year-old children in Armenia has increased from 17% in 2000 to 19% in 2010. A baseline study was conducted among preschool children in Berd, a region near the northeastern border of Armenia that has experienced intermittent military tension for over 20 years. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study including 594 children aged 6-month- 6 years old and their caregivers in our analysis, to assess the prevalence and determinants of stunting. We calculated the anthropometric measurements and hemoglobin levels of children; analyzed children’s stool and conducted a survey with children’scaregivers.We employed the hierarchical logistic regression model to explore the predictors of stunting among 25–72 months old children and multivariable logistic regression models to investigate the predictors of stunting among 6–24 months old children. Individual and residence level variables were included in the models including anemia, minimum dietary diversity, mothers’ height, the overall duration of breastfeeding, birthweight, child’s history of diarrhea and mean socio-economic score. Results: The prevalence of stunting was significantly higher among the 6–24 months old children (13.3%) compared to the children aged 25–72 months old (7.8%).
