BEBEL GILBERTO

RECORDING ARTIST

Bebel Gilberto was destined to be a performer. Not only are her parents Brazilian music icons João Gilberto and Miúcha, but she spent much of her childhood surrounded by her extended family, which included her uncle, musician , and family friends and Tom Jobim. Her latest album, Tudo, is sung in Portuguese and English (sometimes in the same song), and features a mix of original tracks written or co-written by Gilberto as well as composers such as Cesar Mendez. She also covers the Jobim classic, Vivo Sonhando, and a version of Neil Young’s Harvest Moon. Gilberto splits her time between and New York City. She will headline the City of Boca Raton’s Brazilian Beat celebration on Saturday, Sept. 10, at Mizner Park Amphitheater. Photo by Harper Smith
