CB Richard Ellis Hawaii Launches Multi-Million Dollar Improvement Plan for the Waikiki Trade Center

With a tightening office market in Honolulu, CB Richard Ellis Hawaii (CBRE Hawaii) has taken over management and leasing of the Waikiki Trade Center at the corner of Kuhio and Seaside Avenues. Significant capital improvements and other changes are planned in the next six months to a year, as CBRE Hawaii plans to reposition the building as a leading office and retail complex in one of the world’s most famous tourist destina- tions. “The Waikiki Trade Center is an underper- forming building in a strategic location,” said Marlene De Costa, CBRE Hawaii’s Director of As- set Services. “At CB Richard Ellis, we have suc- cessfully revitalized buildings such as this by cre- ating an aggressive leasing strategy, improving the infrastructure, containing costs, and making them more responsive to current and prospective tenant use,” she added.
